Bter just announced being hacked and lost 50m nxt. Bter now own 60% of nxt trade volume.

49 hours of turmoil-replay of bter nxt theft

discussion thread[Chinese]

hacker's new btc address: https://blockchain.info/address/1AEEasymuZCAXFEcLmgUwQZLA69Kc6GGUW

edit: It seems that the whole thing settles down a bit with the return of over 40million nxt. But the incident has lots of lessons for us to learn.

50 million NXT is a huge amount of money. That's almost $2 million. Just realized that I had about $50 worth of Nxt in there. On the Nxt forums, the community is discussing a rollback. Fortunately, I had about 2/3 of my balance in Poloniex. Hope they don't get hacked too.

This is a huge amount. Bter has been one of the best performing exchanges so I hope this doesn't affect their other operations.
Now prepare for a NXT dump.

There should never be and never should have been any rollbacks on cryptocurrencies unless 100% of NXT users are affected by it (absolutely 100%). If Bter the community do decide to perform a rollback, cryptocurrency will be treated as a joke.

Yup. This will probably be remembered as Nxt's Mt. Gox moment. Sad

Now prepare for a NXT dump.

Just placed a couple of ridiculously low buy orders on Poloniex and Cryptsy. If the hacker dumps his coins, I'd be able to recoup my 1,500 NXT and then some.

They might even go up. Investors may look at NEM as a hedge against NXT. 50m NXT in the wrong ends will spook a lot of investors; and if prices tumble they may decide they are better off buying up NEM tokens instead of selling for BTC.

It seems that the Chinese community are pretty cool with the loss. It seems that the bter's registered capital is 2m RMB only. and the 50m nxt worth 10m RMB at its current rate.
