Does anyone actually care about this algorithm? Has any coin been successful with it? Seems like a poor choice.

This is only the second time the algorithm has ever been used, so hard to say. It's very cool and efficient though. I like it. There were rentable FRESH rigs when the first FRESH algo coin came out, I'd imagine some could be gotten ready pretty fast?

FRESH is one of the best pre-existing algorithms we could find. It provides at least a 20% performance increase on heat consumption and power consumption on your mining hardware. It utilizes three very well known hashing algorithms: shavite, simd, and echo in 5 rounds of hashing.

New Nightmare mining pool has been added to OP! If you need to rent a rig or rent out your rig, Miningrigrentals seems to have removed FRESH from their navigation but it still exists at this link - https://www.miningrigrentals.com/rigs/fresh

I don't really see the point of making the most "efficient" PoW system -- I prefer to see a unique PoW system.  There's also a disadvantage to FRESH which is less rigs to rent and less popularity (not that I dislike Fresh just asking).

I prefer unique, cool, and efficient. Since this is the 2nd FRESH algo coin ever, it fits all those bills. Setting up rigs for this is very easy, I'm sure some will do so to make some money on rentals.

Does Solomining work like this?

1) create "nightmare.exe-shortcut" from wallet.exe, insert "-Server" @ the shortcut in line "target:"
2) goto %appdata-folder and create nightmare.conf, insert "rpcuser=Username
rpcpassword=Password
rpcallowip=localhost
rpcport=3136
port=3133
daemon=1
server=1"
3) goto miningsoftware-Folder, edit the start.bat as followed: "cgminer --whateverkernel -o http://LocalHost:3136 -u Username -p Password -I 17 -g 2 ..........."
4) Launch nightmare.exe-shortcut
5) Launch start.bat

Is that correct?

Thank you!!

Dear Lord, please grant me the ability...
