I live in Canada. Unfortunately, newegg.ca doesn't offer bitcoin payments for now. Is this promo still available to me?

17% discount when comparing to Amazon. Didn't know the profit margin for retail store is this high.

I think this is what would be known as a loss leader.

Quote
A loss leader (also leader) is a pricing strategy where a product is sold at a price below its market cost to stimulate other sales of more profitable goods or services. With this sales promotion—marketing strategy, a "leader" is used as a related term and can mean any popular article, i.e., one sold at a normal price.

Sure it's good news that companies are doing this, but who wants to spend their coins at current value. They're worth around $100 less than what they were a week ago and much more if you go further back, so a little discount isnt going to sway me at the moment.

Consumers can buy bitcoin at market value and then buy the ps4 at huge discount. This has nothing to do with hoarding and investing and hoping for higher price.

Precisely, using it as a currency instead of an investment tool.

That's assuming that they are making a profit on this deal. Could be a loss leader, or maybe they just see the future potential of Bitcoin.

http://slickdeals.net/f/7146826-sony-playstation-4-319-99-free-shipping-newegg-pay-with-bitcoin?v=1

i think bringing more attention to these exclusive deals will help us draw in more users.. so if you have an SD account, please thumb it up.. or buy it if you are looking for a good deal on a PS4.

This is really cool! Sadly I just bought a PS4, maybe I should donate my PS4 to a family member and get another with this deal.

I wonder what Bitcoin only Holiday deals we will get this year, maybe we some bitcoin only Black friday deals Smiley

Thanks,

Doesn't look like it. Yesterday, there was a banner saying that using the code BCPS410 would get you a $80 discount if you use Bitcoin. It isn't there anymore. Here's the link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16868110114

That a good price. But they just put out a article about they don't see why everyone is buying ps4's. Well this is one reason alot of the internet currency is bitcoins now. So alot of them are gonna be sold. Either way its a good way to boost sales.

I think its not for promotion but sort of investment. BTC prices low now, if they rise to $800 then they already would have made lot of profit.
