I need to convert some of my coins to fiat now. I'm selling via Western Union (cash only, credit cards can be charged back), or bank wire. If by WU, you'll need to buy a min of 1BTC. I don't expect for you to send first without escrow. I asked you who you'd like to use for escrow - you ignored it, and started trying to get me to send you coins first via PM. That's indicative of scammer behavior. I've updated your trust because I don't trust you so far. I will gladly remove the negative rating if this deal doesn't look like you were trying to scam me out of 1.5btc.

We will use escrow. I'll gladly send the coins to a trusted escrow member who will hold until it's confirmed I have the funds. The escrow member will then release the coins to you.

NFCU cash deposit.  The location isn't exactly close to me, but most weekday mornings I should be able to swing by.

I will send (deposit) an amount first...maybe $100 or so to start, I've read enough where I am totally comfortable with that.  Maybe after the first transaction we go back and forth sending first until we reach somewhere around 2 btc exchanged, or however you're most comfortable.  I can provide receipts as well if necessary.

I have asked that you all post in this thread. There are all types of scams out there, so to protect myself - as well as to bring to light any attempted scams so we're all aware.

Here's PM log with ruggedman_dan. I'm not saying ruggedman_dan is a scammer or that he tried to scam me, but he's been suspected of taking MP funds from a user here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=600079.0 That issue is still unresolved. Also it appears that he's done business with team8652 (positive feedback) who's also trying to get me to send first. The majority of ruggedman_dan's feedback are from new members - and there's no reference link for trades from members with positive feedback themselves. It didn't help that when I offered for him to send first he changed his mind.

I prefer to use localbitcoins.com for escrow.
Western Union is ok, but I would prefer to use Walmart to Walmart transfer. It works just like a Western Union except you have to pick it up at Walmart and the fees are cheaper.

I'll give you 1% of you buy 3 coins. If I'm going to use LBC escrow, I might as well sell them there and at a premium. I'd rather use someone here on this site for escrow.
I don't mind using the Walmart transfer either...

The most I can buy today is 2.5 BTC.
Of course you can always sell on LBC at a premium, but I am a trusted buyer. On LBC, all types of jerks open trades an never really intend to complete them. I only suggested them as escrow because using their system is so much faster and efficient than waiting around for an escrow guy here. We can trade at our own pace instead of being on someone else's watch.
Anyway, if you find an escrow agent here in the next few hours, great. We can do that. You can also send first and we can make the whole thing public.

2 BTC at Bitstamp last
I cover all sending fees but you cover escrow if you'd prefer to use it.

Also, escrow is to protect the buyer, so you'll have to cover the cost. Most of the guys here don't actually charge anything. It's to protect you - not me, because I'm the one who's selling. You are always free to pay first if you don't want to use escrow here. And I won't be pressured into thinking that I'm going to lose out if it's done within the next couple of hours.

I actually have rep that goes back even before the trust system existed. Just do a last post search on me. I have been trading here for a long time. I just have been more active as of late because I have a little money to play with.
Anyway I am fine with your terms and all and I am not trying to rush you. But I am a busy guy. I work and I have a 2 year old so I don't have all day to wait on an escrow guy.
But you are the one who wants escrow so you'll have to find the guy you want to do it. I already offered my solution.

Hi, I suggested escrow because I'm not sending first. If you'd like, you can gladly send payment first. I'll then the coins once it's confirmed that I have payment in hand. Again, escrow is for your benefit - not mine. If you want to deal without escrow, that's fine - but I'm not sending first. You've been around for a while, you know this.

You would just go into a branch to make a deposit into the account. They'll give you a receipt that will have the number, the amount and date. I don't need the receipt - I'll know when it's been deposited. The receipt is just proof that you deposited funds in case I never send your coins - it's for your protection.

It's just odd that originally you wanted 2BTC first, now just in $100 increments? Since the location isn't all that close to you, it might be best to use WU, just saying.

Don't do the trust thing then... I'm not worried about that, since you are now raising an issue with it.

shdvb is a verified and trustworthy exchanger in this forum, you would be wise to not dispute that fact.  He runs bunnycredits.com.

There is nothing odd about me wanting to trade in smaller increments, especially if I send first.  Remember, I posted my offer here in your thread, and you acknowledged it.

If you have now decided that you don't want to trade or are having second thoughts, I have no issues with that either.

EDIT:  I forgot to comment on WU... that's way too expensive for this trade, I'm not interested in the WU fee.  It would be much more cost-effective for me to go a mile out of my way and just make deposits.

How about I make a USPS money order for the price of the entire 2 btc.  I then contact Danny Hamilton (escrow), I pay any fees (or tips) as they may be.

I've had a few people ask me to hold escrow for the transaction, but I don't want to waste time writing up escrow agreements if you are no longer going to be participating in the transaction.
