So what do we know about the dev of this coin? I'm interested in the cause, and I know it's not a coin you'll really make money with, but how can I be assured the dev isn't just gonna run off with the money? I've heard of it happening with other charity coins in the past...
Well, you can read the articles posted in the OP. We don't need to run with the money, really. The idea is making something good for a change, getting these kids that are suffering so bad a warm meal or something to cover themselves from the cold with. There is a link to the block explorer and the charity donation address, you can see that there is no money flowing out of that address, and it won't until we convert the coins to euros to send that money to the charities. We will detail that process and publish the appropriate data, so there's nothing to worry about in that regard. If you want to help, try voting for us at bter.com, we need to increase the trading volume and get the price as high as possible to make the donations count. In the first post of the thread there is a chart, exemplifying how the amount of donations would change with different coin prices. Something to think about... Have a nice day ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Well that's a risk one way or another I feel because there is still a chance for you to run off with the money. What's the advantage of buying up this coin instead of say, sending your BTC to these charity wallet addresses that are already established? -World Aid for Homeless Children: 1GZM9zwAceK32v139mmX9itPwCZSJjU3Pk -Bitcoins for Charity: 1NoA98grVfXfVqysU4ijM9jhMBD8vmrUC8 -Bitgive foundation: 1PEoUKNxTZsc5rFSQvQjeTVwDE9vEDCRWm -TheWaterProject: 1CRvLyXFFhMr8ZABhjcmF3XLnPMjCSrkn6 -NewHarvest: 1HqkTQL2VaDbAPEn3H7i6uVRmYScwHkE69 I could keep going on and on but the point is, why invest in this when you can donate directly to a charity of your choice without having to worry about the chance that your money will end up in greedy hands rather than hungry stomachs? And those addresses come from...? X-Labs has covered the topics you inquire about btw. We are close to the end of the POW phase, looking forward to the airdrop. Let's hope we can make a positive change, as we set out to make. EDIT: by the way guys, try to request the main exchanges to list CHILD, we've already contacted them, but community support is important. https://www.cryptsy.com/https://www.poloniex.com/coinRequesthttps://bter.com/votinghttps://bittrex.com/Home/Contact

Indeed, thats what we focussed on from the start, all of these exchanges have allready had multiple notifications about what we are doing and how. But sadly it seems none of that matters to get added. So maybe these things that show a succesfull coin will get them to strain their ears. Don't worry we will continue to contact them with every information they need. You can actually see this as a good reputation of what state crypto is in atm by looking at what the big exchanges go for. The answer for that you can figure out yourself I think. Greetings

Indeed, it would be nice to be at a few more exchanges.
For now, let's just mine and get ready for the airdrop.
Check out the table in the first post, in case you missed it, we have a sample list of donations, and what we could buy theoretically at different market prices. It would be ideal to get the price higher in order to help more families. This also benefits miners who were faithful to the project from the start, or buyers who felt it was a good idea to support this cause.
The prices and items in the table are taken from Save the Children's site and give us a good idea of the impact our work will have.
