Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

It absolutely can!

You should RMA it back to EVGA. I've done the same thing with a couple of 750's and they sent me new PS within a couple of days. They have one of the best warranties/support hands down.

I've seen s1's start to go for under $40. some I believe were doing $35 shipped...
