Look at this crazy good looking project! Beta starts in a few days! What is OpenBazaar? OpenBazaar is an open source project to create a decentralized network for peer to peer commerce online—using Bitcoin—that has no fees and cannot be censored. Put simply, it’s the baby of eBay and BitTorrent. https://openbazaar.org/https://blog.openbazaar.org/what-is-openbazaar/

Hope they can pull this off.
Pretty surprising that no bitcoin retail auction start up manage to succeed after bitmit shut down. Can't be that hard to launch and market a new platform and host it in a country that doesn't regulate crypto currency.

The team is quite big if we can believe what is written on their website. I have good feelings about this. Will see beta in 5 days.

Excellent news, looking forward to signing up OpenBazaar has got huuuge potential. One more nail in the coffin for over-priced centralized marketplaces like Ebay.

I have the same Idea but a bit better and different, We will be launching our site soon I guess they will be our competitors. The success of the site will depend on funding to advertise it. Bitmit had funding to advertise on google, thats why they are successful, cryptothrift dont have the funding for it, hence hardly any traffic.

The more the better Zolace, I want to see way more merchant tools get into action, we're relying far too much on third party payment processors when we don't need them because of the blockchain.

There is one: Cryptothrift https://cryptothrift.com/I've used it a few times and can recommend it.

So is this OpenBazzar going to sell illegal or just legal goods, or maybe both? I was under the impression it was going to be another tor market but doesnt look to be the case.

I believe the idea is to be able to sell whatever the hell you want. Hmm, I'm not against the idea, but would like a decentralised ebay site where 'normal' items could be bought and sold. Not sure I want to use a site where I have to sift through CP and weapons etc.

Not sure I want to use a site where I have to sift through CP and weapons etc. I'm sure there will be many different sites utilising this technology - good and bad ones. I think a free and decentralised ebay-like that sold legal items would be great, but I'd also like a free and safer site where I could buy drugs etc if I so wanted.
