I personally find it offensive to say something like this.

His state is unknown.  He is either in a very unusual type of coma, or he is dead.  People are certainly entitled to differing opinions on the subject.  My fond hope is that some day it will be demonstrated that he was not in fact dead.

Some do, although it is still used much less frequently than it should be within said organizations and institutions.

Right... and who says that the NSA has not poisoned that project as well in some way shape or form?  I suppose because it is open source but still...   Projects/community needs to re-evaluate security and crypto as a whole.

RIP. I greatly enjoyed his post here about coping with late stages of ALS; it was inspiring. I applaud him for his contributions to cryptography and bitcoin and I hope he is remembered fondly.
