Small World...I just moved to Nashville about 3 weeks ago and listed 2 houses for sale in the same neighborhood... 1 of them is about 3 houses down the street and the other is about 1/2 mile away.... I to was born in Arkansas but lived most of my life in SoCal before returning briefly...cheers

We bought the house across the street from the Merritts, Dr. Beyga's old house.  Here is a pic of our house with the Merritts in the front.

The lake water is ok.  I used to swim in it when I was a kid, but I think you might get some strange looks being a adult swimming in it .  There ponds are stocked with large mouth bass and a number of other fish. Water moccasins as well in this area + copper heads (snakes.)

You get a lot of house for $440,000 $425,000 and it is in the nicest neighborhood in Batesville.  Batesville is a "hub" for the middle of no where.  Roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes from Little Rock and 2.5 hours away from Memphis.

For real, here are the restoration pics. Like I said, it is SUPER far away from what your house is currently. I could only dream of owning a house like that some day.

Currently living in it and trying to sell it. Originally was in the family and had to buy it through a delinquent tax auction because of a bunch of family problems (grandma who owned it was in the nursing home with alzheimers). Only paid 720 for the house and the 1/2 acre land it sits on. Put about 15k into it and trying to sell it now . I think I made a good investment.

It's in Dardanelle. It's a small house ~520 sq foot. It's great for me and my wife currently. We have no kids atm, one in the oven though !!! It's been in my family for a very long time, my dad was raised in it from birth which is why I didn't want to rebuild it entirely or add on. I wanted to keep the originality of it with it's location and size. I did remove a nearly all of the original walls and change the floor plan from a 2 bed room to a 1 bed room with a larger kitchen, bathroom, and walk in closet.
