Well this worked. Alt's arguably help people hold on to and stay interested in BTC. I see how altcoins are scammy, deceitful, and often do not serve any purpose. They also hurt BTC in some ways, but ultimately, it just brings more attention (which is needed) and it still a small community.

this is the dumbest idea I have ever heard of, it goes against the principles of crypto.

We don't just make rules, that is the whole point

You are basically saying that all innovation that is going to happen has already happened.

This is like I said, a very dumb assumption.

Backwards as you could possibly get.

Its like the head of the patent office in the early 1900s saying that every invention that will ever be invented has already happened.

This was very incorrect as we all now know.

You could see this idea like to begin to have a little of order and give trust to peoples and start to make improvements on altcoins in existence obviously prices will rise again, Peoples can work on things like security,marketing,use, avoid fails like to mtgox ,cryptorush,etc.............,

question for you: does Free Distribution finished with miners? , Of course it didn´t.Same way "Zero Hour" is not against of crypto, you could see it
like to another little step......... miners keep mining,pools working,exchanges trading,devs making improvements and giving support to users,etc.......

EDIT: There are a lot of benefits like to avoid download new wallets with danger of virus or malwares,Time will be used of better way,coins will raise in value due to security and use,good devs will be more interested on work because his coins will have more value,forums will be more interesting and easy of read,Foundations could be more cooperative on it because they know that theirs coins need co-exist...........
