I'm have over $500,000 USD to invest in coins.

My question is, what is the best coin, is your favorite investment choice for the future?
I will gladly invest my 500k, but i need solid answers on why so-and-so coin is the future.

BTCD
There are so many reasons that I can't even start to sum them all up.
But just browse through the thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=684090.0;topicseen
$500k would buy you a good chunk of the 1.3 million total coins, too.  Potential to 10x your investment for sure, unlike lots of these altcoins.

Monero.
Reasons: Excellent anonymity. Currently sits on 5th spot on www.Coingecko.com but only 11 on www.coinmarketcap.com
This means that Monero is undervalued right now.

Here is a comparison I made with Monero v.s other coins.

First. Let's look at Blackcoin a pump and dump currently at 16 spot at Coinmarketcap. Chart indicates two peaks, with no rebound and currently falling more for every day. Notice the low volume after the initial two pump and dumps. It is incredibly small.

Secondly let's look at Xcurrency. An incredible huge pump and dump with zero volume except it's initial peak. This train crashed already at first station.

And now let's take a look at Monero.  USD marketcap is once again reaching it's previous all time high and volume is there. This tells that demand for XMR is still very high for it's current price.

Fun times.

With that kind of cash, you could literally invest in ANY altcoin, work the market into a frenzy, and then get out, probably with a substantial profit.  But I still wouldn't do it...

Don't invest into a coin.  Invest into a person.  Send a message to this guy.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=177323

This is legit, he runs several assets for investors such as yourself and he has a reputable name.

Put half of it into a really clean concours condition classic car.

May I suggest one of the early E-type Jaguars:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Cars-/9801/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=jaguar+e-type&_sop=16

Or whatever you like. Almost impossible to lose money on classic cars, and the market for E-types is exploding again.

Then put $100k into BTC, and look around for a small handful of sane alt-coins to invest in.
BTCD, NXT (and its asset coins), Boolberry, probably LTC would be recomendations, but every one will pump their favourites.

Basically, don't invest $500,000 based on the advice from anyone on this forum: do your research, take your time and spread your investments around.

Edit: Or, yeah, just give some to jl777. I've seen the results of his work over the last 6-7 months and I'm impressed.

He seems to be a reputable person and he's been paying dividend to investors for a long time now.  Inform me what's so bad about him or if there is anyone better?

Otherwise OP's alternative is to invest for himself and the safer bets there tend to be innovative 2.0 coins like BTCD, NXT, NEM, NODE, et cetera.  Especially with the amount of money he is investing he could also hit up lesser amounts into Monero, Quark, et al.

Be very careful! A lot of 'advice' you'll get is from people holding the coin they endorse. That doesn't automatically mean they're just trying to push their coin on you, if they think a coin will do well, of course they'll buy some. Anyway I recommend that you don't invest such a large sum into cryptocurrency, it's still an evolving concept. If you're into the high-risk-high-reward nature of cryptocurrency, take a look at Mazacoin. It's a Native American coin created to reinforce their sovereignty; they're doing some good stuff. If you decide to invest in a coin, be wary that the markets can be extremely volatile!
