To all those spewing that non sense about Alt coins being worth anything: http://coinmarketcap.com/Bitcoin is a whopping 6 Billion market cap of 6.6 Billion total market cap of all cryptocurrencies including Litecoin, Dogecoin, Ripple, Peercoin, Darkcoin, Shitcoin, Scamcoin, etc etc That's 90% market capitalization of all these hundreds(thousands?) of alt coins combined. Forget about those crap alts, they're purely speculative pump and dumps with a gimmick tech property behind it. Support BTC. BUY AND HODL (and spend occasionally)!

Each coin has its own purpose I like to think dogecoin is great for micropayments and bitcoin is great for speculation Litecoin is great for mixing coins and mining. Huh yeah, speculation and mixing the best options for alt coins.

Litecoin is great for mixing coins and mining.
So is this a recommendation for people to mine Litecoins? I'm wondering if there's a list of what to mine for what type of equipment, that won't result in a long term loss. And the equipment I mean is possibly CPU(for coins with no GPU miner) and all powers of GPUs (including low power and entry level).

Don't be so sure. Bitcoin is first of all but it is not so modern nowadays.

Someone from this forum could do it, surely someone in the services can do it. At this moment, there are only ASIC for sha256 and scrypt algo. So there are in fact hundreds of ASIC-resistant altcoins now.

Don't be so sure. Bitcoin is first of all but it is not so modern nowadays. What do you mean by "not so modern"? What kind of features are you looking for exactly? Btw, don't under-estimate the first-mover advantage for bitcoin.

I think that's a mistake, maybe he didn't want to write litecoin or dogecoin so he wrote altcoin. Still I think LTCs price will rise in mid or late 2015 but doge is kill.

ASIC mean more hashrate, more stable and safe transactions.

How much does doge and ltc worth right now? You can check it in Preev.com . It has good UI and you can check BTC, LTC, Doge and Peercoin. ~~MZ~~

ASIC mean more hashrate, more stable and safe transactions. ASIC resistance doesn't guarantee a even distribution of mining power. If someone has the determination and money to buy loads of ASICs to mine bitcoin, he could as well buy loads of GPUs to mine an ASIC resistant coin as long as it is profitable.

What's the difference between those coins? Does it have the same prices? Though I only hear about bitcoin a lot. What's altcoin, litcoin and dogecoin got to do?
The difference is that btc is the best there is.

Well looks like you have tried doge at a great time. The doge price was just 30-40 satoshi a month ago in early Sept and it is now more than double of that.

Bitcoin=gold Litecoin=silver dogecoin=bronze
I know that is a horribly simple example but it holds pretty true as far as comparing. (yes it does leave out a lot but simplest way to explain)
I would have to say Gridcoin for Bronze. The coin is looking amazing, I value it over Litecoin even.
