Bitcoin is so much better than Paypal IMHO. Bitcoin has no chargeback, bitcoin has a lower transaction fee, and there is no account banning in bitcoin.

Bitcoin is better than Paypal in many aspects for sure, the only exception may be the buyer protection function.

While we have quite a number of trustworthy and helpful escrows, it is not easy for them to investigate the complicated disputes as a individual working with spare time.

Tranaction fees are very high in paypal compared to bitcoins. There are many rules in paypal.

But if a merchant accept btc through paypal, will you have to pay the same fees in BTC?

I'd say Bitcoins, but Paypal has more "audience".
There are much more people that using Paypal for payment instead of Bitcoins, it's like Paypal is more "user friendly"
  Smiley

In time this will change. PayPal only have the gain over bitcoin due to them being the first ones to break into the online payment processing niche, while bitcoin (or I should say blockchain due to blockchain and other bitcoin wallets really being the competitor to paypal) have only just kicked off in the last few years.

Of course, though, once the same amount of people KNOW about PayPal and Bitcoin, Bitcoin will obviously be the preferred "way to pay"

We can all see paypal trying to come together with bitcoin (basically the enemy surrendering before their defeat is publicly seen) by integrating it into braintree.

Both bitcoin and paypal will have a place in the future.  I can't say as much for western union   Wink

What's driving down the btc price is that more and more places are accepting btc and they need fiat to pay the bills so they have to sell.  Buy support isn't keeping up but I think this is just a transition stage for bitcoin.  The buy support will come and catch up with the selling of merchants.

While that creates some downward pressure on the bitcoin price in the short term, it help bitcoin go a step closer to mass adoption and is very important for the future development.

I would rather choose bitcoin, for reasons of flexibility, security and the smooth delivery to others, it only takes a minute to mentrasnfer of a bitcoin address to another bitcoin address ...  Grin

I have both paypal and BTC and use them frequently. Paypal transactions are faster because bitcoin transactions need times to confirm, for most of the points you don't need bitcoin anyway. Maybe having financial resources could be a valid reason. But not if bitcoin fluctuates wildly.
