They will mine them for a few weeks. The difficulty will explode. Then they'll dump them onto us in December.
ROI will be tight if existant.
Great !

That's a hell of a lot more than what the L1 consumes. Additionally, I would have thought the shipping cost was included.
My guess is buy LTC directly on the exchange market, when BTC halves in 2016, it might be a good opportunity to seize on.
Bitmaintech always free ship. Current diff is 27024. on dec/2014 with diff = 54000 (100%) we still get $285/1month ROI = 3month (ltc price not change)

BTC block reward will change from 25 to 12.5 at block #420000. However I don't see how that means anything for LTC.

The current price of 1.253 BTC per L1 unit is an insane price! Things to consider:
(1) The unit is priced in USD (not bitcoin) so if you buy you are effectively selling you bitcoin at a 3 month low (face palm) (2) The scyptcoin market is on its last breath and even the most optimistic projects show the L1 MIGHT (if difficulty increase is less than 2%) make a small profit. There just isnt enough upside to risk that amount of bitcoin. (3) A 3 month preorder is insane. 3 months is this game is an eternity, especially considering how much the scrypt market has gone down. Just three months ago LTC was over $11 today its <$5.
Summary: Even assuming best case scienaro (on time shipping, low diff rise, LTC prices dont continue to fall) this unit will not be profitable.
For me this L1 seems a pure gamble. Need to wait and watch. Risk is too much to pre-order now. L1 ROI or not is a different topic.

Looks like they are shipping all in stock to hashnest their new cloud mining operation. No more in stock for us. Bitmain you guys did a great job for most of us at one time and I for one am really happy with my mining units (still waiting on B8), but now we are just the little guys and our money is used to fund your bank account so you can ship in stock out and build our units when you feel the need to do so. You remember us don't you? Profit before your customer base, I would not count on too many per-orders if I were you. At least from this forum. But what the heck a newbie is born everyday. Hi rhj12345, The miners runing in Umisoo are all AntMiner S2 units, which were closed sales several months ago. Now S3+ and L1 are open sales, in theory, our online miners' sales are not related to these S2s subscribed in hashnest.com. BTW, S3+ is more likely to be shipped earlier than Sept 20th, we will do our best to do fast shipping as usual. [/quote what happen pre-order with btc and btc gone up double in Dec.?

Quoting the obvious that shipping in Dec. leaves a sour taste in your customers mouths. Now the specs. are just a hope at this point correct much like Zeus promised us, or may I say Fib.? Your a trustworthy company but why the 4 month preorder? Too many people have been burned on these long preorders, shame on you. I thought your business model of the past would carry on, shipping in stock equipment. Seems most will wait to see what specs are for sure.

Don't worry about that, it will get confirmed eventually. It often takes them a lot longer than 1 hour, maybe some manual process is involved or something. If you don't get it confirmed within 24 hours e-mail webmaster with your order id and blockchain tx id.

My technical analysis of the Antminer L1 ...and FLUSH... Repeat...whatever... ZiG EDIT ...: Also ...from BitMain website ... https://bitmaintech.com/about.htm ... ..."We reject some business practice in the community, which is intended to distribute the risk and benefit asymmetrically. We are here to change it: we will not accept pre-order forever before we feel logically 100% sure that we can deliver on time. There will be no unexpected waiting and failed/delayed taping-out or any other kinds of delaying risks for our customers. We created a Legend in the bitcoin community: no pre-orders, on time shipping, even pre-shipping. We are earning more and more trust from our worldwide customers." Shame on you, BitMain !... ... ZiG again ... warning you guys...

Looks like that pre-order honey jar that everyone else has been getting their paws into has become too appealing for BitMain to resist. B8 'pre-order' was enough of a stretch for me. But this? Who are you guys? Next thing you know Bitmain will be late to deliver, and selling us well-tested units. I thought you guys were better than that

I almost think their is someone else running the company because they have done a complete 180 on us and now they don't give a rats rip about us. Just like BFL. Nice. Notice to other manufactures: Give us fair deal and in stock products; we will buy.

No more preorders for me, so I won't be purchasing this hardware. I refuse to take the risk on product development. This business model needs to die off on the consumer end and if you want it to go away do not participate in any more of these deals. I think b8 of the s3s was a test of tolerance to see if we would bite and fund this venture. Bitmain is better than this and I find it disheartening that they are following that crap model now.
