I tried some faucet but its not really worth it,With faucets you can earn a very small bitcoins amount,
IMHO

With faucets you can earn some satoshi just to learn how wallets work.
If you want to earn really something you can sell some stuff in the market, join a signature campaign,
try some bitcoin based games, take a look at the altcoin section where you can find some free distributed coins
or try other forums where you can be payed per post like quark or letstalkbitcoin.

Faucets can take a lot of time and in that time you may not earn a whole lot. Signature campaigns and offering services to those that need something doing such as maybe writing, graphics are two ways you could look into to earn bitcoin that would be better than using faucets.

I think signature campaign is one of the best way to earn bitcoin. For faucets try primedice faucets.

Once you own some BTC you could consider investing in and there are multiple options here. With faucets you can earn something if you are lucky with gambling the satoshis in the dice websites, otherwise they should be avoided.

The best way is to buy bitcoin, while you build up your activity to do signature campaigns.
