Ya... but it would be very bad if this ID gets access to the Github repo for Bitcoin. If that gmx ID has access to the repo, that needs to be de-activated as quick as possible.

Commits can be reverted, there is no permanent damage that can be done.

I dont think this troll will make any code commit. He'll probably post his Buttcoin website everywhere. All access of satoshin@gmx.com to Github Bitcoin repo needs to be revoked.

if capital gainz has to be stolen paid on assets that appreciate regardless of weather they are liquidated then yes he would be in trouble.

but he could just say he lost the private keys.

Only governments would be that determined to fuck everyone.

Shatoshi needs to watch he doesn't become a target for not filing capital gains taxes if he lives in the USA. The IRS would love the press attention on getting him.

that's not how it works. he hasn't even touched his coins, so why would he have to pay taxes on them?

I have no idea how it works in the USA, but this sounds like he might have to pay something (assuming he is not in actual fact British, which i think he is):

My interpretation of this is that's only if you sell Bitcoin for USD or trade it for something else of value. You also owe taxes on what the value mined was at the time, but Satoshi's value mined was worthless. As we can tell that he sold pretty much none of what he mined, his tax bill should be nothing.

Right!

Because.... Because... Wait, wha?

Why would it matter?

Well it looks like the hacker is reading this forum and took my advise about posting a donation address.

This is big news

Not really. This is very likely just a single troll. He probably got the idea of using satoshin@gmx.com to post to p2pfoundation.ning.com from my post here. The dox stuff is probably fake.

I for one am disappointed in the level of trolling displayed here. He could have done something amazing and hilarious with Satoshi's email address, but instead he made a couple of lame jokes, and now everyone knows that the email address is compromised.
The hacker could have posted a donation address from the p2pfoundation account and would likely have made a lot of money (people are dumb).

But your assuming that he's from the USA. he probably is, but if he's not, and does not live here, hes not subject to our tax system.. that being said i have heard people say that the government wants him, to imprison him, etc.. I thought how idiotic that thinking is.. To throw a guy in jail for inventing a system.. its like arresting the guy who invented email.. But, if he is an american, they technically could arrest him or charge him for not paying capital gains tax on his coins. granted, they would have to prove that they were his coins, this whole thing is interesting..

I would be willing to bet right now the governments/banks of the world are torn between making an example of Bitcoiners vs not wanting to give them free publicity.

The new generation have arrived and they brought their own currency...

Maybe his account was hacked long ago.

When he posted "I'm not Dorian Nakamoto". That looked suspicious to me.  Maybe  his account was hacked by NSA, and they are trying to discredit him.

I think they would never find who he is, and they are just mad about it and now are using troll tactics. Because they can't do anything else.

Of course what they do (whomever they are) is stupid and would not have any effect on bitcoin.

Satoshi was around his "child" while it was little. Now his child has become a big black magical indestructible dragon and nobody on this planet can kill it.

Why do everyone want a piece of this Satoshi?

To me, and from what I have read, he has millions of bitcoins, that are not spend and he created a successfull digital currency.

Looks like a man hunt for a serial ant killer. ^laugh out loud^

I really wonder if people may indeed do something evil with the information in the account... I don't think Satoshi would store his private keys in the account or anything that may be used to compromise Bitcoin. IP addresses from 2010??? Yeah, big catch...

I should have gotten into Bitcoin back in 1992...

I don't think that many/any email providers save the IP addresses that have logged into a user's account for 4+ years (I may be incorrect on this). I do believe that most ISPs will disregard their IP logs (who was assigned what IP address at what time) after between 6 months and 2 years depending on the ISP. Even if the hacker did have access to satoshi's IP address, it would not allow him to get satoshi's true identity.
