And it might be like that for years to come.  In fact, now might be a good time to short BTC.

This is the 1st year in which BTC has gone down.  And a new trend might be setting in.

Looking at charts and making such predictions is futile as it's all speculation. Nobody can predict what the price will be today tomorrow or two years from now.

This is the 1st year in which BTC has gone down.  And a new trend might be setting in.

You are drawing your vertical black lines in the wrong place.

Try again, only this time draw your lines at September 1.

Then re-calculate your annual increase for the new ranges.

Bitcoins are best as a long term investment so buy them now. If they blow up tomorrow then you waited to long.

What are you talking about?  Notice the question mark after 3x Decrease?  Its a speculation that perhaps for the year 2014 that bitcoin will not have increased.

If I draw 3 lines and write "x2847 increase?", that would still be bullshit. Even with the question mark.

I already explained. You drew your black vertical lines in the wrong place. Try again with the black vertical lines on September 1 of each year. Then read calculate the increase for each year and you will get a much more accurate number

I understand since sept 1, even this year it will have gone up... but we will see in the next 3 months...  i highly doubt it will go up for the entire 2014.

It's just a question of where you actually take the samples. Unlike Shannon or Nyquist already pointed out, sometimes you have to use a lower sample rate in order to recognize the real trend amongst all the noise...

I should have gotten into Bitcoin back in 1992...

There is no way to tell what will happen with the price, we still have plenty of time left yet to see it go up if it is going to. I will admit if we see it go down again it may be cause for concern and may not be wise for newbies to buy in until we see even a slight rise after another drop.

Again this topic?

Wait until the damage is done, to say the damage is done.

It is not the right time to invest on BTC for newbie. Price of BTC is continuously falling. So I think we need to take some times to invest on BTC.

When it's falling is the right time to invest. When it's at all time highs is the wrong time to invest.

Be greedy when others are fearful. Be fearful when others are greedy.
