I tend to disagree, this is a great time to start buying btc if you have a long term orientation

you have to download the wallet through the coins official website. You'll need a separate wallet for each coin you need to store. In the event you’re just planning to trade them for other coins, you can store them around the exchange wallet associated with your account. Every coin has it own blockchain (don concern yourself with being aware of what a side chain is appropriate now while youll probably get confused in case your-centre new to everything at this time) every blockchain has addresses related to it that arent linked to other blockchains. This can be why you ought to have separate wallets to the addresses to the coins you’re storing in it.

What are you talking about here?
The whole thread is about speculation on bitcoin price. No one is asking about how to create a wallet for altcoins.

I am a new comer and not much experienced on BTC. The chart seems to me very difficult to understand. Please help me.
It's easy to understand: it's bullshit

What are you talking about?  Notice the question mark after 3x Decrease?  Its a speculation that perhaps for the year 2014 that bitcoin will not have increased.

I already explained. You drew your black vertical lines in the wrong place. Try again with the black vertical lines on September 1 of each year. Then read calculate the increase for each year and you will get a much more accurate number

I understand since sept 1, even this year it will have gone up... but we will see in the next 3 months...  i highly doubt it will go up for the entire 2014.

In fact, if you draw the lines on every Sept as DannyHamilton suggested, you will need to wait for another 12 months to see if we have a "downward year". Tongue

I hope you do realize that moments of when bitcoin hit $1,000 was based on Mt. Gox hyping it up right lol.

There's no better time to buy bitcoins when the pain spreads among holders, just look at the charts of the last bubbles.

When it's falling is the right time to invest. When it's at all time highs is the wrong time to invest.

Be greedy when others are fearful. Be fearful when others are greedy.

This is the best advice.

That's a cliche though.  When the market is bearish it is good to get out.

Exactly, a lot of FUD on bitcointalk right now. I definitely think a lot of users are paid for FUD. Don't believe them and buy now, don't wait to have high prices to buy.

BTC is what right now? $460-470 between that maybe? I think newbies should buy right now. We are approaching christmas and new year. Might be big on the first month of new year.

The bitcoin price is now $450 on bitstamp and $443 on btc-e.

I know that the stock market tends to perform well during Christmas, but I have no idea if that applies to bitcoin as well lol. Smiley

Better advice for some might be:

Better advice for some might be:

Only invest what you want to lose  Cheesy

but you will never loose by simple holding strategy.
you'll only loose fiat when selling your coins lower than you bought them.

I will hold people's bitcoins for them, for only a 1/10th investment fee imposed monthly. That way you can lose your bitcoins with confidence  Cheesy
