I just realized they sent me 10 payments totaling 0.01. Thanks lol. Keep em coming.

I've got 2 0.00001's from laxo trade thus far, looks like their campaign is kinda working since they are getting threads made about them for cheap.

They are getting advertising, but like most adverts they're not going to get any of my money. The thing with this advertising spam is the payments usually never confirm so the money is returned to them, but clearly these payments are confirming.

I know these are just spam advertising, but they always spook me when I get them. Dunno why.

Received another 0.01 BTC yesterday from them...

You got 0.01 from them?  Shocked I got two but they were much smaller amounts. How do I get 0.01? That's nuts  Cheesy.

First two was small, this last one was more like it...  Grin

Did not do anything special and I'm not complaining. Covers a couple of tx fees.

Yeah, they must've spent quite a bit. Are they all being sent from the same address? You could check and see how much they've sent if they are.

Received another 0.01 BTC yesterday from them...

Some people recieved over 0.01 because they sent money to several addresses controlled by the same wallet.
This would mean that they have over 100 addresses that they have posted somewhere. Most of the Txs I have received have been for .00001, however I have gotten a few with .0001 but these appear to be a very small minority

No, just 10. Some of the payments sent out were as much as 0.001. Maybe some people got more too?

I would be curious to know just how much additional business they are creating for themselves with this kind of advertisements. In theory this could be very cost efficient for them in getting a lot of attention and to generate additional revenue

Anyone who receives such micro-transactions is actually incurring a loss. The blockchain size of the recipient Bitcoin wallet will increase, thereby increasing the default transaction fee. If someone gets 10 similar transactions worth BTC0.0001 in total (BTC0.00001 * 10), he might be paying BTC0.001 or BTC0.002 extra in transaction fee the next time.
I don't think anyone would pay .001 in extra fees. If a transaction were to result in them paying a higher fee then the input is worth then they can simply choose to not spend the input. You need to remember that you have control as to which inputs you spend and if you do not spend them then you do not pay TX fees to spend them.

Also the longer it has been since an input has been received the higher priority a TX that attempts to spend such input, making it less likely that a specific input will need to pay an TX fee

So is this definitly nothing to worry about? I've had a couple of dust payments from this and others before and I've read from some higher members here that they're trying to track or trace your addresses or something or is this just fud?

Although it's probably a lot easier tracking addresses that your've sen btc to i don't think this would be the case as you can just track anyones address anyway.

I also received the 0.00001 BTC from Laxo into an address that I never used except to validate my identity in bitcoin-otc. Ths they are just spamming the addresses in bitcoin-otc.

Yes it is fud, these spam payments are used only as advertisement. Many who receives unknown payment are curious who sent it and check blockchan.info comment. If your worried about not spending this spam payment from address you dont want use anymore because you had there no unspent input anymore for long time, use coin control and just do not use the spam payment - but you should never reuse adresses if your very concerned about privacy anyway

Have not received anything, but it's not a bad thing.

These 0.00001 transactions will pile up after you receive many of them.

I've received a few dollars worth or so of these transactions. Hey, its free and doesn't make me do any extra work, so ill take em.. They do pay transaction fees, but i haven't looked thru to see how much they are paying, but apparently enough to get these dust transactions thru.. sometimes they send .001btc every once in a while.

I've not received anything from this address and I certainly aren't interested in receiving any more dust than I already have.

They're more than welcome to send something more substantial in my direction, but I don't expect that will happen Tongue
