I am trying to run a 5830 and a 5850 on a single computer.  after installing the latest drivers, GUIminer only recognizes 1 card named "Cypress".  i have tried different drivers, but i cannot get guiminer to work on both of my cards.
any advice please?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Are you using a dummy plug?

You need it if you are using windows. Or you could plug your monitor in one card, start mining, switch the monitor to the other card, and start mining on that one.

i have tried making a dummy plug and switching the inputs between the cards.  neither of these things worked.  GPU-Z and MSI afterburner both detect 2 cards, but Catalyst control center only detects 1.
is there anything else i could try?
EDIT:  CCC detects the second display adapter, but lists it as "Disabled".  is there a way to enable it?

You need to extend the desktop onto the second display.
