Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

More than 50%. I was lucky I went into the right industry that practically pays you according to the salary scale based on your newly acquired skills and training plus also the experience. So bitcoin is considered like an extra hobby for me rather than fully depending on it.

My salaries has probably gone up 10% in the past five years, but its purchasing power has dropped more than 20%. So net increase is negative 10%.

Since the beginning of 2009.And which industry are you in? Did you change industry at all during that period? And for those older folks, how much raise did you get during the 2004-2009 period?

In the last 5 years, no raises at all. HR Sector in the US.

My income increased nearly 10% over the last few years, but everything has gotten so expensive nowadays in Europe.

Which results in nearly no increase due to higher taxes, higher insurances, higher daily life costs, etc.

That is the story everywhere. Inflation is a killer.
One day, when salaries are denominated in bitcoins, we will not have this problem.

Since 2004 it's gone up over 150%. I'm now making over 250% of what I was in 2004. Same industry, different role. 2009 was a no-raise year for us due to the recession.
