Has anyone heard if butterfly is going to be taking orders they can't fill? I asked them in my last email and they ignored the question.

wow

people are really getting these?

This is not some pseudoeconomic post-modern Libertarian cult, it's an un-led, crowd-sourced mega startup organized around mutual self-interest where problems, whether of the theoretical or purely practical variety, are treated as temporary and, ultimately, solvable.

Well, I have not ventured out of the speculation forum for a long time...last time I checked the consensus seemed to be that the whole thing was a scam.

It appears that people are actually getting BFL product, albeit slowly.  That's awesome.  How are the real world hash/Watt numbers working out?  How many Th total have they managed to get in customers' hands?

The numbers are better than advertised and I'd imagine they've shipped several hundred units by this point.  You have some reading to do my friend.

HIII, I'd just like to pop in to post some theoretical numbers at your hind quarters.

The cost of a Single unit in early May was $633 shipped to US or Canada.
The Bitcoin average price for early May was some place belw $5.20.
The Bitcoin price of a single would have been ~121 BTC shipped.
121 BTC today is worth ~$1073.27 at MtGox 24h Avg of $8.87
This puts the value of your investment at a net loss of $440.27 if it arrives at your door today, ~10 weeks (70+ days) from purchase.

This same initial investment of 121 BTC if put into a 3% weekly investment for a period of 10 weeks, reinvesting the earnings,
Would now be worth the following;
 1 : 124.68
 2 : 128.47
 3 : 132.38
 4 : 136.4
 5 : 140.55
 6 : 144.83
 7 : 149.23
 8 : 153.77
 9 : 158.45
10 : 163.27

The total value of your initial 121 BTC would now be 163.27 BTC or $1448.20
This puts the value of your invetment at a net gain of $815.20
Not using this method of investment and instead opting to purchase a single in May cost you an opportunity loss of $1255.47

enjoy

If you're not excited by the idea of being an early adopter 'now', then you should come back in three or four years and either tell us "Told you it'd never work!" or join what should, by then, be a much more stable and easier-to-use system.

Unless you can demonstrate where you can get 3% weekly interest then this is the most stupid post I have seen in my 12 years of Internet usage.

The price increase since submitting my order is something I accounted for the possibility of, but now, something I try not to think about.

Roll Eyes

Don't hurt yourself trying to look through this. I know it's tough informing ones self without having ones hand held...
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=65.0

And if you're a RISK taker, (which is no more a RISK than giving some random entity your money 70 days upfront for a product) then you can get 7% per week.

These are not some new, pulled out of my ass numbers. And if you spent any of those 12 years actually reading you would know this...

Regards,
 Panda

well, I woulnd't put my nest egg there, but I have sucessfully received a return of 7% for going on 3 months now from a little over a starting fund of 154 BTC. It is now at about 282. I don't always reinvest.

investing is awesome if you can see the future w/ colored numbers and everythings

Makes me kind of sad Sad  Still not ready for the risk of what might be a HYIP.

not me. It was just as likely that we could have paid $633 in BTC in May and the BTC could only be worth 200 now. Which would be a huge win.  Hindsight is always 20/20 and high RISK investments are just that, high risk.

I still have a bad taste in my mouth from them taking so ungodly long to get these out and the ethicly unsound manner in which they announced their new dream product. I'm really not trying to make anyone feel bad because investment method y could possibly make more than investment method x.

cheers,
 Panda
