I inquired about the ship time of FPGA units and the reply email from Pegi at BFL included the following:

"Currently orders are shipping 8 to 9 weeks from date of purchase. We have an abundance of orders for the SC generation, so shipment for an order placed today (for an SC) would ship later than October"

I feel that now might be the appropriate time for BFL to update their website with that little tidbit.

All you have to do is make up the shipping costs (round-trip) from when you get it till the SC release and the purchase would be worth it. (assuming the person is planning on getting a SC device).

All you have to do is make up the shipping costs (round-trip) from when you get it till the SC release and the purchase would be worth it. (assuming the person is planning on getting a SC device).

Option A: Order 4 SC Singles with an order number somwhere in the ~5500 range (+/- 200?). Get them in 6 months.

Option B: Order 4 FPGA Singles (and get them in ~2 months), and 4 SC Single upgrades (with the same order number as Option A). Mine on current gen Singles for ~4 months, and then upgrade to SC Singles.

I don't see why you wouldn't...

I'm also not *that* stressed about the SC right now.  I needed to get my foot in the door sooner or later, and I know I will be able to trade it up for an SC.  Once the first pictures and tests of the SC units start popping up, I will feel a lot more comfortable dropping the money on a preorder.

Hello, another newb checking in with an order.

Ordered 1 FPGA Single June 5th, order confirmed June 6th. I will update when received.

Emailed Jody a few days ago and was told they are shipping out late May orders.

Looking at the list here, I wonder if BFL might finally catch up on orders. There were 86 ordered in May, 43 in June, 4 in July and 4 in August if my quick count is right. It looks like they're about 1/3rd of the way through the June orders, but assuming their actual order sheet has a similar distribution to the list in another month they might actually get all caught up.
