i know the price has been fairly stable for quite some months now, but every time i see a new rally/crash thread i still expect to see the price doubled/halved.

The volume was more impressive to me than the price change.  When the volume is a couple hundred BTC per hour and then all of a sudden a massive 15k dump happens, it's news.

apart from that: you have a very good point: in bitcoin, as in any other bull market, the best strategy is to hold you position on the way up.
