Hi Shulio,

I have a short answer and a long answer for you. The sort(er) answer: Like in any gambling game, on the long term (talking hours to days of play) you will lose, because there is a house edge that is greater than 0. In the short run it depends on your luck: if you get lucky you will win, if you are unlucky you will use. In respect to your chances of winning Chart Bet is exactly like any other gambling game. On average your chances of winning compared on Chart Bet are higher than in almost all other games because our house edge is so low for Chart Bet (just 0.2%).

The longer answer: The way the charts move is independent of whether you have bought the stock or not, or whether you have deposited or not. You can check this very easily: When you click on 'verify' in the bottom section of the page you can see the exact code we are using to determine the change of the stock from the server secret or the client secret. Even if you are not a programmer you can see that the code is always the same, not matter if you have bought or not.

The difference between the three charts is only their volatility: the yellow one is relatively stable, the red one is sort of "medium-stable", and the purple one fluctuates the most. All three charts have a very small tendency to go downwards over time, this is how we make money.

Here is how we compute the change for each chart: from the server secret and the client secret we first compute a positive number the determines the rate of change for a chart. Then, exactly like in a dice game, we compute a second number that determines whether the change will be upwards or downwards. On every update of a chart, the chance that the chart will rise is 0.2% lower than that it will fall. So you are right, each chart has a very small tendency to go downwards, this is how we make money.

I really need to try to write this up in the clearest way possible and add it to the website. Will try to get this done by tomorrow evening. Thanks for asking and please ask for clarification if this was too incomprehensible Smiley

I see, i was actually playing with purple and its goes crazy and it is very volatile, in the end it takes up all of my balance, then this means if I got some balance , it would be risky to play the purple chart bert as it is very vollatile and can takes up all of my balance

Yes, you are absolutely right. To control your risk the best thing to do is to bet on the red chart. You should also try to adjust the speed of the chart to your liking (click on options above the yellow button). This gives you more to think whether it would be a good point to buy or sell. You also have a slider there where you can change the volatility of all three charts.

So after I have tried them with hectic speeds, the chart reupdating each like 10 seconds or so, wonder what the use of it ?, the purple chart is crazy enough to blow my balance at the hectic speed but was jumping back on profit, if someone gonna play this chart bet, recommend to have a good connection otherwise the chart might fall the moment we press the sell button

Hi Shulio, I'm not sure I understand 100%. When you say the chart is reupdating every 10 sec or so, do you mean that the chart is updating to new values, or is there some sort of error where the page reloads or something?

By the way when you lose connection, the backend will stop updating the chart immediately, so you don't have to worry that changes to your balance are made while you lost the connection. Also you will always buy and sell at exactly the state you see the chart in (again, you can verify this by turning the speed to quite slow).

Do you think that "hectic" is too fast to be enjoyable? I could recalibrate the speeds a bit if that is the case...

Yes chart is updating to a new values, sorry that I misstyped it, do you mean that if somehow we lost connection the game will be suspended and we can continue at the moment before we lost our connection?

speed of " hectic " is good since I dont really like a slow game, but the volatility of "hectic" is indeed crazy enough, someone playing hectic volatility with real money could have got a heart attack especially if he play with purple chart lol

Hi Shulio, sorry for the delay, was out for dinner. Please find my answers below.

Yes chart is updating to a new values, sorry that I misstyped it, do you mean that if somehow we lost connection the game will be suspended and we can continue at the moment before we lost our connection?

Short answer: yes, when you lose connection the balance stops to change, even if you have bought a stock.

Long answer: What is happening is that every update of the chart is triggered by your browser. Basically your browser says to the server: "give me an update". Then the server responds with something like: "ok, the update for yellow is +10, red is -20, and purple is +100; your new balance is 1010". Then the browser goes ahead and displays the new balance and the updated chart. Then, the whole thing starts over: the browser says to the server: "give me an update"...

Whenever there is a disruption of the connection, the server does not get these "give me an update"-requests from the browser anymore. Thus the server does not change the balance, until the connection is reestablished.

By the way, the same thing happens when you close your browser, close the tab with chart-bet open, or navigate to a different game. In all these cases the balance stops changing, even if you have bought a stock.

Your questions are really helping me to understand all the points that are unclear about chart bet. As I said, will add that info into a FAQ on the page (probably tomorrow). Would be super helpful if you could review that FAQ before I post it. Would it be ok if I send it to you by pm beforehand?

Ok, that's a risk that I really haven't provisioned for Wink. Hope I won't get sued for that Smiley

Dang Ansar, I missed your comment. Sorry about that. And thanks a lot!

I've just uploaded some improvements to our provably fair system. You can now pick whether you would like to have a new random client secret is generated on every bet (in your browser of course), or if the system should stick to one. We have also dropped the requirement that the client secret be numeric, so that you can use any lucky string you can think of.

Next up will be a faucet. Coming very soon...

Wow this site is really rising. I love the new sound on the dice and I am very excited about faucet.
Fastslotshenry, could you PM  me about an issue I found with chat that is easily fixable? I have developed different kinds of chat boxes before from scratch and its a really easy fix.

One thing I noticed with the chat is many design flaws. With the chat in it almost looks like the site is "pushed" over to the right, hence everything is smaller due to the space the chat box takes up. I would reccomend a chat box which pops in and out of the side and is hideable.
Another thing, typing text too long will push the chat div to the right and therefore will be scrollable left and right which is an issue.
Received PM and responding now

Very good points, thanks. We absolutely need to make the chat hideable. I actually had the same thought but I'm really into launching barebone stuff and seeing what improvements people want to see.

The thing with the long words is an issue for which I don't know the best solution atm, suggestions welcome...

Henry I replied to your PMs.
Basically I pitched adding a minimum chat size, of about 2 characters (its his choice) to prevent people from spamming blank messages and one letter messages which is currently the case right now.
Let me know what you think about this.

Just read your pm. Absolutely agree, those zero character posts are annoying, even on day 2 of the chat. Will follow all your suggestions.

Thanks especially for sharing your code. Very much appreciated :-)

Hi I just checkout the site, it looks pretty good and works well. The chat looks like it needs some work with the blank messages and the scroll bar at the bottom of it that serves no purpose. Once they are fixed you might have you self the gambling site with the best design out there. Keep up the good work!
