I'm happy to take a small risk of being victim to a double spend attack if I can improve the user experience.

I lately came across an article by Eric Voorhees (founder of SatoshiDice, godfather of Bitcoin gambling, now CEO of ShapeShift) where he talkes about his experience with accepting 0-conf deposits at Satoshidice

Isn't there, though, an alternate way, to prevent any money loss? You could let them gamble and only withdraw when they have a confirmation. That way, you can let people deposit with 0 confirmations and still play, but when they're done playing, they can withdraw as long as they're not double-spending.
