Honestly,  I have a speech prepared for finding my first block.
However, I've been mining on pools for 2 years and never discovered one.

I look at every block discovered like the 3rd string punter looks at his Superbowl ring.

Just one before I die.

how much hash do you have, and where are you mining?

If you have enough hash just to make yourself feel good, just solo mine a crap coin for a day or 2 like zetacoin you will find a few blocks and you can feel better Smiley

I thought I would never find any blocks, Ive found 3 so far on slush and that was at 600MH/s, 5TH/s and 10TH/s intervals.

Really depends at what MH/s you run at and for how long, its all about probabilities.

Gamble!  Throw it all on ckolivas' solo pool.  Some guy just hit a block with 5TH/s or so of rented rigs.  Lucky bastard...

If you want to know what it feels like, just mine a testnet block or two. Sure they're worthless but it's fun for a brief period. Try http://testnet.ckpool.org , you'll be able to see your blocks on the testnet block explorer http://blockexplorer.com/testnet if you cant be bothered setting up a local bitcoind testnet and downloading the full block chain. Then if that makes you feel lucky you can try for the real thing on the solo pool Wink

I found about 10 or 15 , but back in the day when the whole network was under 20th. I had 10gh.

Compare that to now I would have  13000x  the hash or  about 130 th  .  At 130 th I would still be finding them 2-3  a month.

But I can run only 6k watts in house  about  9-10 th.  and that is a block or 2 a year.
