The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

This is not good.
I understand why it is done. But, this is not good.
You will scare anyone that is new and sees it away.
Can these situations be handled with a little more discretion? Please...

I'm starting to think there's a global conspiracy by scammers to keep women out of business. Out-of-my-ass analysis shows 50% of scams are done by people overtly (whether using a woman's name as a handle or showing a picture of a woman's face in avatar) claiming to be a woman, while only .5% of BitcoinTalk users claim to be female. Tits have been an immediate red flag for me when considering transactions for months, now. By the way.... http://timlwheatsvictims.com/ lol

Wont it just scare people who plan on scamming others, legitimate traders have nothing to fear? Many would think so wouldn't they? First it will do nothing but evolve the techniques of scammers. But that is not what I am concerned about. Lets assume the essentials are correct. Should his mother and ex-wife pay for his sins? You are possibly punishing others for someone else's wrongs. But lets look at the What-Ifs: What If: His mother and ex-wife are good friends, possibly because there are children involved and they are close. So she comes over to 'visit' a lot with the Grand Mother. But you know, the ex-wife really is pissed at her no good ex-husband. So she uses his computer to tarnish his name. What If: His mom is doing it and blaming her son? What If: The are children in the house that are computer literate and are using his information. What If: The neighbor has cracked his wifi and on a visit came over and helped him out with a 'computer problem' and is using his information. Who would people use to get away with crimes if they were going to frame someone? Would they use an upstanding citizen or use a hooker, persons with problems, etc... All I am saying is when the community runs across these situations it can be handled discreetly without having to publicly post information that may or may not be correct especially since we don't know the circumstances of all the situations possible. As far as a new person seeing it. What they would assume is if someone expects them of being a scammer without all the possible facts that someone weird ends up with trading details and a serious search for identity is undertaken. Then when and if agreed by people, their dox are publicly posted hurting not only them but their mothers and wives (ex in this case, apparently). If SomeoneWeird wants to do this, it is up to him. But do it in an upstanding way, Dox yourself just in case if you are wrong or someone gets hurt, he could share some of the responsibility.

The website about Tim Wheat contains links to newspaper reports about Tim and his wife's multiple arrests for various types fraud. There's also a report about the arrest of an Amy Wheat on similar charges two years earlier and claims against Tim dating back as far as 2004. At the very least, this family has been arrested in the past for fraudulent activity and that has been publicly reported. I don't think people should be reticent about making that information public any more than they should have been reticent about making Bruce Wagner's involvement in Bold Funding and failure to pay the subsequent judgement against him public.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.
