No, you cannot use an ordinary computer to mine bitcoin. You can only mine bitcoin with dedicated bitcoin mining hardware that runs by itself or connects to your computer.

I see. So CPU mining would end up with a loss after electricity cost. In that case, OP you should simply forget about CPU mining unless you want to mine just for fun.

i spotted a good coin which can be mine(it's called burst, checks the alt section) with hdd, it's your best bet

Do some ROI math electricity makes cpu mining dead.  GPU is dead for most a few still are able to do it profitable.  But asics are so much more efficient you really don't stand a chance if you are not using them.

Not worth the time or energy trying to mine with a cpu, only dedicated hardware can make mining btc viable but you would have to invest a lot of money on asics to even think of making ROI. Far easier to just buy some btc

You will burn out your company before you can get anything significant.
Bitcoin difficulty is just too much to mine with a cpu.

Sorry, carlosbtc, it's not rational to mine at all at the moment.  Not CPU, not GPU, not Asic, not Scrypt Asic, not Cloud mining either.

Electrical costs, electrical capacity, Cooling costs, Hosting costs, Maintenance costs, Service costs, hidden costs in Cloud mining all contribute to you being a loser the moment you step into any type of mining.

If you're doing it for hobby, fun, and to learn about it, get like a Rockminer R-box or used Antminer S1 or S3.  You'll get a bunch of BTC dust or some pocket change, but at least you'll be able to say you're Bitcoin mining.

Easiest and least painful way to get some Bitcoins, is to buy it from a trusted exchange or trusted seller.

Before jumping at all, read up all you can about Bitcoin, and don't be afraid to ask questions in this forum.  Good luck!

Granted you won't make a lot but hey its an interesting concept. I plan on building a raspbery pi miner and running it in my friends house. His eletrcicy is completely free so I can lead into some profit there.

Even if free electricity changes of paying off the usb sticks are slim.  At their price per gh or mh, it is a novelty at this point for fun.  Your better off going for a S3 or something newer as far as price per gh. 

I would be surprised if you can pay for the stick itself let alone a RPI to run it..

Yes I have 2 S3's they appear to be one of the more profitable hardware miners if you can pick one up cheap enough.

I agree with you. Now BTC mining has become more difficult and it's almost impossible to make profit with ordinary PC.
