It is an AMD FX8350 with 8 cores, using cpuminer_win64_magi_byMarcusDe-bdver2-0922 and logging in at suprnova on stratum+tcp://xmg.suprnova.cc:7127

Triggered by the advice of Atomicat I went into my Asrock Bios and there I found an overall CPU overclock setting and raised it 10%. After reboot mining with 7 cores sprinted away up to 103 khs. Temp stays OK at 48C
edit; after a few minutes it goes down to 70 khs. Next it keeps changing between 70 to 80 khs . Strange..
alright thanks thats kind of odd what kind of cpu? is it an instance node from a vps? It sounds like he's one of the slightly automatic overclock settings in the bios. It will crank the multiplier when it can but step it down if the chip gets hot. I know it is, because you have to crank the 8350 up to 4.8 Ghz to get 100Kh/s. Digithu, you must be using water-cooling? I know how air-cooling works on these, not quite good enough. Overclocking, it's like hot-rodding for computers! One of the best forums is Overclock.net and here's their excellent guide to overclocking the Bulldozer which I'll have to dig into again. Ah, just noticed it's for the 8120, but all the scaling charts are relevant and anyone who can take a 3.1 Ghz chip to 5.4Ghz deserves to be listened to. Tons of information there, tons and tons of experience to tap, and I'd better get out of there before I start drooling over liquid nitrogen setups. Oh there it is, the other Bulldozer/Piledriver guide.Another great forum is Xtreme Systems. Lots of fun stuff there. (Good Lord! *choke* 4-chip Opteron system. That's just nasty!!!) Things getting a little late here so I'll leave it at that. Just remember that if you're scaling things upwards whatever it is, it'll fail before it blows. If you're not rebooting a lot though, you're not doing it right. Aida64 reports ALL the temperatures in your system and cards, not just the main ones. Contains great benchmarks, positively the best and most comprehensive info utility I've ever seen. Even has hashing benchmarks for graphics cards. http://www.aida64.com/downloadsOn the sidebar of this Reddit community is a great link list of utilities and benchmark programs. http://www.reddit.com/r/overclocking/And just because, here's my Bad Girl.

Here is my GIFT to the XMG community!!!OK, I have finally managed to mine behind a firewall (i.e. NAT) The problem is that your computer do not have an IP to connect with the server(the pool). Here is my solution: Go to your VPS and: $ socat -d -d -d -d TCP4-LISTEN:xxxx,fork TCP4:xmg.suprnova.cc:7127 Edit-add: I am not sure if you need to su so the $ might be #, as my user has all the privileges of the root. xxxx is the port you choose Run socat under cygwin, and: socat -d -d -d -d TCP4-LISTEN:80,fork TCP4:yourVPSip:xxxx xxxx is the port you choose, the same above. Run minerd with command line or batch file: minerd -o stratum+tcp://yourVPSip:xxxx -u Username.worker -p yourpassword Please note that the "-d -d -d -d" after the socat commands are for diagnostic purposes, so showing you what is happenning, i.e. you can completely remove them. I have just managed to run it, so some tunning might be necessary [/quote]

Have started mining Magi using Digital Ocean and VULTR as per. joelao95 guide. - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.msg8800103#msg8800103I actually had a bunch of referral credit surplus after signing folks up to mine Boolberry at Digital Ocean. Anyway, I have used your link at VULTR - which has pretty impressive VPS instances, currently being x2 the hashing speed (on average) over Digital Ocean with more RAM for the same price. VULTR gives $5 free credit as well when you register a valid debit card or deposit with PayPal and they now accept Bitcoin deposits with an additional $5 credit on the first deposit. Can't find a better reason to not try mining some Magi !
