I have played there too, and was able to cashout a bit big amount of 5+ btc..

Too bad...a nice dice site like BikiniDice was seemingly abandoned by the new owner. However, I don't know if I could be back  gambling with it since I am already enjoying & investing in other dice sites, like Da Dice.

The site was sold a few months ago. I am not sure why the buyer paid so much for it and never actually did anything with the site

Maybe buyed it because he wanted to remove a competitor from the dice sites business.
Just a guess, however.

Were the investors able to divest before handing out the site to the new owner? I hope this is not another bad story..

I was able to de-invest. Probably other investors did it, also.

I would doubt it. There is still a lot of competition in the bitcoin dice arena and Bikinidice was really never anything more then a niche site

The site was sold a few months ago. I am not sure why the buyer paid so much for it and never actually did anything with the site

Actually the new owner did something though but perhaps it is just that he is doing it in a slower pace, He made a logo design contest for new BikiniDice Logo here and paid the winner as well as the other participants here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1067435.0

The site could be under total redesigning but there is no official statement yet regarding it and it seems like the new owner has a hobby of testing a new site and giving them review , which you can check here

And if it is the same yussuf89 (same person behind the account )who bought it, he opened up another dice site before and it seems like it was not succesfull

yussuf89 declined to pay the 6.5BTC price after winning the auction so BikiniDice went to user unibtc.4real (uid: 485020).

It is not necessary to give a negative trust to someone who back out on a deal, that will be bikinidice previous owner decision if he is willing to give him a negative trust. Also that yussuf84 account has been given back to the real owner because it is a somewhat hacked account to begin with https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=964525.0

Thankyou for this, I didnt even know about yussuf backed out on this deal, and if unibtc is the owner of this site then you can expect this could be one of the major dice sites soon because he himself is a highroller in most dice sites

I hope so. Seems a little off that they offered such a pitiful logo contest however. We'll see how it plays out.  Smiley

It seems that the person who had purchased the yussuf89 account eventually returned it to it's original owner (see here). The whole scenario truly is one that has a huge amount of twists and turns. (the tl;dr version is that someone hacked yussuf89, marcotheminer accepted the hacked/stolen account as collateral for a loan, refused to give it back to the rightful owner, eventually sold the account, then the person who purchased the account eventually returned the account to the rightful owner)

The've already lost everything since the website's transfer of control. Even if they restart Bikinidice now they'll struggle to recover former players because of new gambling heavyweights that popped up in the last months.
Probably, they've changed their minds; however, we can only doubt about their trustability & capability to do business with BTC gambling following this news.

It's interesting that they've wasted money on buying the site despite the fact that they do not want to keep it online. But yeah I guess you're right, they've probably just changed their minds.
