I really like the look of this and I battle to adapt to other forums.

Definitely, I'll go for that all the way.

I hope the forum looks like this with the same colours, but just more modernised and a little cleaner/slicker. The option to change colours would be great as well, though I'd personally probably stick to the default blue/grey.

I HOPE the forum design is not high on the feature list.   Undecided

That's the point of letting the look being handled by the user himself

It certainly won't look exactly the same, though I hope to retain the same sort of feel. A lot of modern sites have really low information density: lots of whitespace, big images/buttons, etc. I want the forum to remain content-dense.

Everyone (including me) will hate the new look when it comes out, but you'll get used to it eventually. That's how these things always work.

Design is a huge effort in itself in terms of UI/UX. We will be open to suggestions once we have a public version out.

I hope it looks simple as that. Usability is the only important thing for me. I don't want shiny cosmetic features.

I certainly hope not. This is the stock template that comes with SMF and is years old.

A nice, responsive, flat design would be right in line for today's design trends.
