no one will ever give you free bitcoins. you have to earn them by mining or doing jobs that are needed in the services board. maybe even selling stuff.

Now that just isn't accurate.
There's the Faucet... mycryptcoin... 5minutebitcoin and several others.
Admittedly, they give only a pittance, but it adds up over time.

Arguably most of those sites are paying you for a service - looking at their ads.  the faucet is an exception.

Some people will recommend freedigitalmoney.com; I've never gotten a payout from that website.

Never gotten a cent (bitcent?) out of them either.

The support is really good. If you didn't get your bitcoins within a few minutes, send an email to the address on the website. We work with hundreds of different advertisers who provide these offers. And some of the offers have problems sometimes. But we always work out the problems that customers bring to our attention.

FishDawg, the problem is that you are already pushing the limit of your customers patients, offering a bitpenny or two for 10-20 minutes of filling out some survey or installing (and subsequent spyware cleanup) of silly games.  If you add to that the time to gather proof of complience and emailing support, then it becomes too much for most people.

My main problem with the site is you are either selling your personal information, or you're giving backdoor access to your personal information :/
I'd rather use MtGox

And if one has to go through all that how can they be called free bitcoins?

If you really want free bitcoins then perhaps you should look into using your own desktop instead of begging for them? Just an idea.
