Hey Everyone!

I have sad news. I was scammed. And being naive and not knowing enough played a role at this. Also greed was in this.
There is a user named BobbyL and he also goes by Michail1. He was looking to buy a large quantity of XC. We talked and he agreed to buy everything I had because he was offering me 3.5BTC for 1500 XC. 1500XC was my total amount I had been saving since June. I've been buying a few here and there every week.

He setup a wallet on blockchain.info with a username and password with 3.5 BTC in it. When I logged into the wallet to check, I saw the BTC. I didn't get the private key to transfer funds out. He told me to send him the XC and I will get the private key. Well, I sent the XC, but he never sent anything and changed the password very quickly. This person wont return my emails. His email is passat.ltc@gmail.com - He goes by Michail Hoffman.

I lost my life savings. 4 months of saving XC and it's all gone due to greed for some quick turn around cash. I feel bad. If anyone knows how to get my XC back, please help.

3.5 btc is your life's savings?

And you should post in the scam accusation board. You will probably get some help with legal advice (you've got the dude's name), and maybe connect with others he might have scammed. As for the XC, I don't know much about it. But I'd bet it's a non-reversible transaction.

When you are using something that is 100% of possession determines ownership, you cannot at this point in time, especially with someone with no feedback or history of being honest and legit, without the use of escrow, you lose allllllllll leverage in creating a fair deal.

Now you have no recourse, no one to turn to, no one to help you.... You messed up. How old are you... if you not 45 and older, its hardly your "life savings." But rather an expensive lesson in life. EVERYONE pays their tuition in some form.

I once paid a .1btc fee. OUCH..

I learned a lesson = Greed hurts. If it's too good to be true, it is.
And when you make just above minimum wage, 3.5BTC is a lot of money. (After rent, utilities, food , insurance and 2 kids - it hurts to lose 3.5 BTC).

Then why not buy BTC straight from coinbase or local btc?

Sorry to hear.

But as you state that you lost your life savings........ It makes me think why on earth did you buy in with all that money??

Never invest more than you can afford to lose, this is a very expensive lesson for you.

Never trust people online that want something from you, don't let this happen again.

Not sure if trolling or incredibly naive? Are you younger than 18? Most people don't make these types of mistakes. I always liken everything to trading someone in an online game. If someone said to you hey I will pay you $1,000 worth of gold coins from whatever game you play, but you trade me your item first and accept nothing, then i will give you the $1,000 worth of gold, would you do it then? Nope. So why would you do it here?

I am puzzled... Huh

Very rough crowd. I'm sorry if I made a mistake, but I don't want this to happen to anyone else from this person. Yes this is my life savings. When you make just over minimum wage and have 2 kids, then life is tough. I'm also working on bettering myself, but school loans don't help.

Again, I'm sorry if I offended anyone with my stupidity, but greed got the better of me. I had 1500 XC Coins worth about $700 in todays market. I was offered 3.5BTC, I thought I could sell the coins, buy back the XC and then have some money left over for a better christmas holiday for the kids.

Remember, not everyone is lucky enough to be super smart or savvy. I try my best.

Thank you. I won't add to this post anymore.

You learnt a costly lesson.

The other day I was trying to buy some Bitcoins through Localbitcoins, and the seller tried to offer me a discount if I send him directly. Of course I declined and then he suddenly stopped messaging.

The world is full of scammers. No excuses to your plight, you should know better.

I have no idea whats XC is either. I assumed some useless coin which, as usual, will go nowhere.

It might surprise you that everybody is not following all the coins you like.
