Also, I don't know about the family unit. I think it's an invention, much like religion. I'd be glad if it was obsoleted. Saying this as the father of a 4-person family unit, though maybe it's not surprising at all.

if you look around you will see it's the exactly the opposite. Here in Spain you see 3 times more women than men everywhere you go and they even tend to fight over men lately
