I was thinking of finding reputable hero members and asking them to do trades with me. i would send first, proving i am trustworthy. Really i just want it for bragging rights. My friends at work will be jealous of my green trust rating

How about working to improve your rating instead of trying to take a short cut and purchase Trust?
Instead of green you may end up with red.

The only thing you'll be able to brag about is having negative feedback as this is a great way to get it. You're essentially just trying to cheaply buy trust, but I don't know why you would announce this.

So how do you improve your trust if you don't take a risk?

Simple, just do everything properly. People would usually leave a positive trust rating for you if you complete a successful trade with them, and chances are, one of the people could be someone in default trust.

Says the guy trying to buy trust. He obviously felt what you were trying to do made you untrustworthy. You should just accumulate trust naturally, not set out to essentially buy it for whatever reason.

it is too an abuse of the trust system, because i have done nothing wrong. you can't prove that i have scammed anybody, nor can you prove that my intention is to scam. I offer to send trust and allow until the chargeback window is closed on paypal before buyer has to send the coins. i want a positive trust on my profile, what is the crime in that? because a scammer does these trades to accrue positive trust, that must be my intention as well then huh? that's bullshit, i have no history of scamming or shady activity. just give me a damn chance! fuck

That is abuse. Come on, he just asked a question. I thought negative trust is for when someone actually scammed you. Otherwise its just a measure of popularity.

ok internet toughguy, i concede. im a big fat scammer and i'm here to scam everyone out of their precious bitcoins. that's clearly the only reason someone would ever aspire to accrue a positive trust rating. right? i mean no normal and honest person would ever dream of having positive feedback on their trust profile, am i right? and you tried to call me a hypocrite... pfft

So you're asking someone to answer you "yes", right? Ok, let me be the first:

Yes it is.

i mean no normal and honest person would ever dream of having positive feedback on their trust profile, am i right?

Not by asking "how can I get positive trust". A normal and honest person just behaves in a normal and honest way, without caring about trust. Trust will come to him eventually (or not!) but he doesn't care, why should he? He's already honest and doesn't need to prove anything to anyone.

No, you can gain negative trust for what appears to be scammy or questionable behaviour. This guy by his own admission wanted the trust for one thing: to appear trustworthy whether he has good or bad intentions. He was attempting to buy trust and now he has a warning stating so as any positive trust he may have managed to buy obviously wouldn't mean anything.

You are a hypocrite for several reasons, whilst I have yet to contradict myself on this matter. The feedback doesn't say you're a scammer, it says you tried to purchase trust, which is what you've admitted to doing several times. Acting like a child throwing your toys out of the pram isn't doing yourself any favours. Acquiring trust is fine but you went about this completely the wrong way and the sooner you realise this the better.

Lol right, no one cares about trust, an essential concept in human relationships. Honest people just float through life all happy go lucky, and their reputation is never put to the test.

Simply, we don't know if we can trust you.
Know trusted member will go first, because why should they trust you, when they are the trusted one ?

Secondly, trust is upon user discretion. I can put negative trust for everybody on BTCtalk, without any consequences. (The only exception is spamming by creating alts)
There is no "trust abuse", anybody can put trust for anybody, and if you get a red number because somebody negged you, its because they are on your trust list (Stop DefaultTrust if you don't like that !)

No longer active on bitcointalk, however, you can still reach me via PMs if needed.

But in a social setting, the default trust matters. Think about it, when we see people with big ugly red trusts, we make a mental note not to trust that person. We've all been scammed so we limit the risks by assuming the worst

Looks like now people will be making that mental note seeing your big ugly red trust.
On one hand buying trust is pathetic, on the other it's sad, that a person who came here to ask how to get positive trust ends up with a negative one.
