http://www.alternet.org/media/new-film-redemption-gary-webb-journalist-who-exposed-cia-ties-crack-trade"The new Hollywood film "Kill the Messenger" tells the story of Gary Webb, one of the most maligned figures in investigative journalism. Webb’s explosive 1996 investigative series "Dark Alliance" for the San Jose Mercury News revealed ties between the CIA, Nicaraguan contras and the crack cocaine trade ravaging African-American communities. The exposé provoked protests and congressional hearings, as well as a fierce reaction from the media establishment, which went to great lengths to discredit Webb’s reporting. We revisit Webb’s story with an extended clip from the documentary "Shadows of Liberty," and speak with Robert Parry, a veteran investigative journalist who advised Webb before he published the series". Looking forward to seeing this, the truth gets out eventually.

Oh please, anyone in the know who has actually studied history and not the shit made up in school is aware that Afghanistan is one of the largest producers of drugs, namely stuff like Opium, the CIA was also reponsible for funding what was Al Qaeda during the cold war to prevent the Russians from invading so it's no wonder they have their hands in the drugs trade.
The problem is having to convince people of this who are deliberately ignorant.

Ironic that since the US invasion of Afghanistan there's been a massive increase in opium production. The West has been flooded with heroin over the last decade yet still politicians are calling for more 'war on drugs'.

It's because making them illegal pushes up the prices so high that they make ridiculous amounts of money from it, making something illegal is a smugglers ideal thing because only they will be able to get it then.

No, I don't think so, "smuggling" requires much more competencies... the profiteers don't have the necessary level of complexity to even be compared... but I strongly agree with the second part of your statement... the only differences is that their profits are legal, and can be enjoyed more easily...

Legalizing drugs is a drug dealers nightmare, only have to look back to the prohibition in the US to see how insane our current policies are. Uruguay's government has the right idea selling weed for just $1 a gram: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/oct/22/uruguay-legal-marijuana-drug-traffickersCan't see many weed dealers making a profit with the government selling it that cheap

Do you really think so? Moving from the risks of the law to the risks of the markets have many advantages, including that profits from legal "operations" assure the availability of all public&private services. I don't think that the "Uruguay's government services" should include growing corn, raising beef or what ever. Why are you against the legal Market deciding (the free will of the People)? Anyway an interesting experience, will see how it goes...

This is true. The CIA did fund al-qaeda during the cold war and they ironically used the training and money that we provided against us. The CIA has been involved in some very shady business over the past several decades and even if you were to ignore the above fact, I would not be surprised if they were involved in crack trade

drama about the CIA and the fight with a journalist is very often made into a movie, sometimes it is taken from a true story, which is always a conspiracy of power to protect one of the groups which have the power of a great interest in the group, the CIA also are involved in the conspiracy, may this only happens in the movies...

The CIA facilitated the Crack trade massively, generating billions in black market funds and devastating many inner city communities
Now they are doing the same thing with heroin. Why do you think afghanistan's opium fields are protected by US troops? So the CIA can sell that shit more effectively.
It's really quite evil, but not unexpected when you look at the CIA's long laundry list of crimes against humanity..
-Assassination of JFK -9/11 False Flag blamed on the middle east. -MKUltra mind control program in which thousands of people were dosed with LSD without their consent or knowledge, not to mention the associated assassinations to cover it up. -Creation of the civil war in Ukraine -Color Revolutions all over the globe instigated by the CIA (Egypt, Libya, etc..) -Assassination of legitimate leaders all over the world who refused to bend over to America -MH17 False flag blamed on Russian separatists
And the list goes on and on and on and on..
The CIA is truly evil, they serve only their dark masters.

I remember watching a speech (think it was the Real News Network) by an ex UK ambassador to Uzbekistan, he admitted to seeing convoys of US army trucks loaded with opium leaving Afghanistan. The Taliban used to clamp down hard on opium farmers but since they've been 'liberated' most of the local farmers have turned back to opium trade as they can make much more profit.

Just hilarious isn't it Russia was trying to wipe out this terrorist organization and the Americans funded them like crazy. Then change their name, call them evil and claim the Russians are the largest threat to the planet as they deploy blackwater in Ukraine to start a war so they can control Ukraines oil imports... When things start to crash... may the world have mercy on the American people and only death to the American politican.

Ironic that since the US invasion of Afghanistan there's been a massive increase in opium production. The West has been flooded with heroin over the last decade yet still politicians are calling for more 'war on drugs'. This is why there was such a large call to stop buying illegal drugs after 9/11 as it was said that the purchase of illegal drugs would eventually help terrorists who recently attacked us. Since we funded Al Qaeda, we have suffered major setbacks in the war on drugs as we were essentially fighting against ourselves

Man that was such a messed up situation for Gary Webb. Imagine trying to do the best at your job and being slandered and outed as a hack and liar from everyone you knew. That's essentially what happened to this guy. Everyone thought he has delusional, paranoid and sick in the head. He knew the truth all a long. The CIA basically hired thugs to ruin his life. Pretty scary if you ask me.

dont forget about words Conspiracy Theory ..... too much fake news and yes everybody have different opinion .
First of all, the word conspiracy is a legal term. Two guys plotting to rob a 7-11 is a conspiracy. It doesn't need to involve James Bond or Money Penny to be a conspiracy, just 2 or more people plotting a crime. As far as it being a THEORY, that's just garbage, you aren't looking very hard for the evidence just dropping out of the air. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/12/12/420107/-CIA-Torture-Jet-wrecks-with-4-Tons-of-COCAINE#
