For those who are interested we are having a branding discussion in the Horizon Facebook group. Short version, likely changing from "NeXT Horizon" to just "Horizon" (HZ), new colors, logo, and so on.

Is there an announcement coming today?

Nope. You can track nodes here: http://explorer.nhzcrypto.org/?page=graphs&graph=nodes

It was a double payout making up for a missed one most likely.

Checked there already, seems like it came when the node number dipped to some 2800 as opposed to usual number around 3100. Its still a healthy number I'd reckon

Just wanted to post some comments over from the Facebook community.

I think the long term winners are going to be the ones that integrate themselves into pre-existing systems outside of crypto. Without giving anything away, I think HZ is ahead of a lot of other projects on that frontier, and the fruits of labor will become visible in due time. Unfortunately, as you mentioned, crypto moves fast, and if people don't see development or deals being made in a few days or a week, they lose interest. Unfortunately for the people looking for quick 5x gains, I believe those days are coming to an end. (Or already have) People are beginning to realize the potential of blockchain technology, so a new block explorer doesn't cause a parabolic rise anymore.
It wasn't all that long ago that you would see pumps based on a sparkly block explorer, or flashy wallet with 0 features and just some new skins. Personally, I'm thank full for this. That means that progress is being made...

Will you be seeing more social media / news site & blog coverage for Horizon? The answer is yes.
When we first started on Horizon, we had no intentions of announcing anything until it was ready, and we were to ninja launch everything. One of the former developers, SilverNXT had that memorable dump and we needed to reassure the community that the project wasn't dead, it was in fact more alive then ever. It was some shady guy with no vision or care who dumped and forced us to announce things well before we had planned.
Such is life and things often don't go according to plan. You must be able to think on your toes and adapt quickly.

Major announcements and releases are right around the corner, and our media campaign will be kicking into gear to match. It's been an interesting couple of months, but I'm happy to report that everything has been moving forward terrifically. The entire Horizon team is both excited and anxious to share what we have been working on. Everyone in the Horizon community has a voice and your thoughts, concerns and comments help shape development. At this time we are looking for individuals who would like to take an active roll  in the Horizon think tank, which is meant to be a place for involved community members to give their insight and opinions on certain issues that are relevant to Horizon's future. If you think you are someone that would fit the bill, then please send me a a PM and we will forward the Slack details.

Thanks in advanced,
Nick Cote

While I do not feel knowledgeable enough to apply for the tank, I thank you for pointing Slack out, will give it a shot Smiley

Also, I will support NHZ the way I can.

I would ask questions on the topic on the official forums, not sure if the issuer will see them here.

Hi all,

Thanks to the extremely elegant pool code provided by users pharesim/scarecrow I have set up a NHZ leasing pool and all is running smoothly.

Pool account: NHZ-U37X-FVKU-4ARG-FR29F
Pool fee: 0.1% until December 20th - then increased anywhere up to 1%.
Pool url: http://nhz.coin.emergate.net:8810
Suggested Lease Period: 32767 (about 40 days)
Minimum Payout: 10 NHZ

Would love to see a few of you forging with me. If you have any questions about the pool please post in the thread at NHZ forums.

Cheers Smiley

It's killing me not being able to buy at these prices since I have no BTC available.

Very little buy support on Polo and really low volume (most cryptos have SUPER LOW volume right now, probably because Christmas is right around the corner).

Anyway, I actually thought about taking a loss in some other coins, just to free up some BTC to put up support, hoping it gets filled, but I just can't do it.

So in the meantime I will continue to collect my stakeholder bounties.  I signed onto the Scarepool Forging pool to get some additional daily coin, and I put a rather large investment into the SPHERE asset (which I hope does well enough to increase my NHZ stacks).

It's not exactly buying, but this is a good passive way to increase my coinage when I can't buy.
