In-Depth Security Features
With many exchanges getting hacked and compromised, we employ a number of security practises to ensure your account and your funds are safe with us.

Instant On-Demand Cold-Storage Policy
We run a cold-storage policy that we like to call Instant Cold Storage. Every deposit you send in to your address is sent to Cold Storage automatically in full. This provides the best possible safety for your funds in case of a compromise.

Two-Factor Authentication
Customer accounts are protected with a username and password, but are also behind our Two-Factor Authentication utilising Email code generation and Google Authenticator. 2FA is standard and mandatory for all users and staff.

Bullet Proof Servers
Our web-server that provides the user front-end has been hardened from common attack methods, and utilises a locked down firewall only allowing specific traffic. All servers require a secure VPN before gaining any access.

Segregated Backend Engine
We've designed our application to keep security as a top priority, with a segregated backend engine controlling all aspects from placing orders, withdraws and trade matching. Every event executed from the web-server is verified by the backend. Wallet servers are deployed with separate user accounts to prevent malicious code attacks.

Application
Our codebase has been checked and verified for prevention against SQL Injection and XSS attacks. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt salt for maximum security both client side and server side.

Website Security
HTTPS is required for all connections to the web-server, and encrypted via SSL certificate. Traffic is passed through CloudFlare to pick up all common attacks and threats on a network level. We also utilise CloudFlare DDoS Protection and cacheing for a continuously fast user experience.

Our Security Research department is continually looking for new exploits and vulnerabilities in our code and infrastructure to make sure that when a problem is found, it's resolved in a timely fashion. As part of our security policy we welcome all security researchers to test our code and infrastructure as this helps us and in turn helps the community and our users. Any exploits/vulnerabilities that are found should be submitted directly to the Security Department via our Support Ticket system. We will vet all submits and reward with a bounty ranging from 0.01 to 0.1 BTC. Despite this, EmpoEX is not designed to be a Crypto-Currency bank, and we strongly advise users to take caution when storing large amounts on-site for long periods of time.

Today we have an announcement to make regarding a new feature available today: Crowdfunded Listings. This makes it easy to get your favorite coin listed for trading against the top crypto-currencies. Funding listings couldn't be easier, with a few clicks right from your on-site balance.

We've prepared a video with more information to show how this system works.



We look forward to your feedback on this exciting new feature. We have many plans to expand the system for further use in the near future, allowing ICO hosting and other types of funding.

We may decide to list any other coin at any time.

Once listed, we encourage developers to notify their followers/users by spreading the word about EmpoEX.

ICO Hosting
Our second announcement is regarding ICOs. We are now fully equipped to host ICOs for new coin developers and project owners. Below is some information about our ICO hosting:

• Wallet source code is required to be provided before the ICO can be launched
• Coin logo, Guthub/bitbucket, ANN/website must be provided
• Up front fee of 1 BTC required, non-refundable
• We suggest obtaining a PoD, however this is not required
• All ICO markets will have 0.01% trade fees, throughout the whole course of the ICO

We’re happy to announce that EmpoEX has officially exited the Open Beta stage and proceeded with the rolling launch. Every user account is left in tact with full history and balances, nothing needs to be done other than to continue trading normally like before.

The Open Beta was well received by the community with lots of feedback and suggestions. Through this we’ve already made the following tweaks and implementations:

 - Implemented the possibility for the About page and trading markets to be viewed while logged out.
 - Made it possible to hard link to a trading market (example: https://empoex.com/trade/DSB-BTC)
 - Fixed QR deposit codes for Android devices
 - Added 1 and 6 hour chart options
 - Fixed various reported security issues related to cookies and sessions (thanks for your research guys)
 - Added more detailed market information to the home page
 - Recreated the Wallet page to be more compact
 - Enhancements to the chatbox (Username highlighting, sounds, click user to select, admins have colours)
 - Added Volume to the charts and improved the outputted data
 - Added open buy/sell order volume to market pages for a more in-depth look
 - Added market listing/delisting, wallet additions & maintenance messages to the Chatbox from EmpoEX-Bot

This is only just the start of what we have planned. From today onwards we will continue to provide a stable experience with new features actively rolling out.

One of our top goals is to make EmpoEX both adaptable and highly attractive to all types of trader, whether you are a miner or a day trader. Expect to see the following features very soon:

 - Unique and easy to use User Incentive System based on your favourite community; Bitcointalk.org
 - Coin voting list allowing for the community to show their demand for different coins

Today we have a couple of things to announce regarding new features and updates.

New Website Style
As some of you may have noticed, we have changed our site's theme colours to a nice black and white contrast. Previously, we had our homepage and emails themed in a dark Orange. We believe the new style will accommodate more users tastes.



If you enjoyed the Orange, don't worry, there's 4 themes available to use on the site including a Night theme.



You can select the style you would like to use on your account from the Settings page or the Quick Theme Selector in the profile dropdown.

ICO Hosting
Our second announcement is regarding ICOs. We are now fully equipped to host ICOs for new coin developers and project owners. Below is some information about our ICO hosting:

User Incentive System
We've come up with a unique way to provide incentives to our users through methods which benefit all of us. We are able to offer users a 20% discount on trade fees in exchange for a little something from you. Users who have a BitcoinTalk profile can participate and claim their incentives very quickly and easily.

Start by going to your Settings, followed by the Incentives tab.



You will then be asked to verify ownership of your account by editing your Personal Text field to say "#EmpoEX". After doing this, enter your BCT username and click the Verify button. The process will complete automatically.



You will then be verified and ready to start participating in the incentives we offer. To start off, we will offer 2 incentives utilising your Signature and your Personal Text field.

Personal Text
The Personal Text incentive involves entering "I support #EmpoEX" into your profile's Personal Text field. This will grant you 5% discount on trade fees on your EmpoEX account.

Signature
The Signature incentive involves setting your profile signature to the following:

This will grant you 15% discount on trade fees.

The good news is, you can participate in both of these at the same time, for a whopping 20% discount on trade fees! Visit your Settings -> Incentives to get started.

Note: This system is still in Beta and we are ironing out any issues that may occur when using it.
Note2: The discount is handled via a repayment based on the trades you've done in a certain timeframe. You will get a notification about this each time a repayment takes place.

Coming Soon
The next update we will do is a Referral System allowing users to refer friends and earn based on the trading they do. More details will be released nearer the time when this system is ready to be launched.

We thought to start promoting EmpoEX after the new platform gets released. There is no need to start doing it from now, and spend CF funds while we are busy coding the new platform.

We might be "unpopular" because we don't list many coins. We have rules regarding premine, coin names, etc.
That could be a reason. If You believe there are other reasons, please let us know!

As a part of the new improvements at EmpoEX the staff has removed the Distribution Tab function. This only effects XEMP holders. There are a couple of projects in the works that are far better tools for traders than distribution. EmpoEX took the time to consult with a couple of the larger cap holders and it was agreed that “what is best for the exchange is what’s best for XEMP”.

Far too many traders have commented on how Bittrex should discard the distribution tab, and since CCEX added theirs volume went up at Yobit. This is a way to encourage high cap traders to feel more comfortable depositing sizable funds at EmpoEX and also ends up being an upgrade for XEMP holders in the long run. It is 2am GMT on May 23 2016, the Price of XEMP is currently equal to the initial offering of 100sats.

You are a new exchange with extremely low volume of trade. Thus I do not think it is reasonable to ask 0.2 - 0.5 BTC for listing coins. Instead you must encourage altcoins been listed on your exchange by setting up 0 fees for listing.

Since this was our Last Post; I decided to edit this post and add the closure summary.

On June 2017, Ant and Drone decided that the platform will not continue its service anymore.
On September 2017, the platform was in maintenance mode.
On October 2017, the platform finally decided to close its doors.
Still, we were online and were looking for parties to sell the platform. Meanwhile, our emails were open for customers to claim their outstanding balance till June 24, 2018.
