But in all seriousness, looks modern to me, probably not worth much. (source: getting stoned and watching daytime antiques programmes on TV)  Undecided

The writing above the sword needs to be translated. It might be a signature or title. Blue & white vases vary widely in price.

It's my family's (don't know who bought it). but I'm the only one left sooooo...
I've known the thing for as long as I can remember, never bothered to ask what it is where it came from tho.

I'm not sure actually, they could be worth something (but the chances aren't that high). I usually just throw out everything that I don't need.

If this is antique this could worth some fortune. Try auctioning it on ebay.

so I spent about a hour spelling some crap in this site and most characters there is either unrecognized or have no meaning at all.

the only thing I can find the meaning is 大, which means "big"...
could be anything, maybe "big vase" or something like that... so yeah, maybe these vases isn't worth anything  Tongue

Phew! I'm glad this thread isn't about identifying some kind of STD.  Cheesy

This style of vase is quite popular. Some are genuine antiques while many more are modern copies. Take them to get appraised if you seriously want to know.

I know a little Japanese (which borrows characters from Chinese) and I noticed that also. However the other characters look like they may be stylized fake Chinese. I don't know enough to be sure though. Nor do I know anything about vases. But I think of this blue porcelain look as being popular in Europe a hundred years ago. They made them in Europe to look Asian. If its what I'm thinking, they may actually be worth something. Not a fortune, but hundreds?

Try an antique shop. The dealer will likely know of one, if in fact they aren't one themselves.

This is probably the most interesting thread I've read here all week. Make sure to update when you find something out.
