Yiimp must've been having a really good day with their low hash, Lux was only good for about 6 hours after release before it was earning less then RVN. Right now it's much lower. Check pools with a lot of hash, such as BSOD.

Sp-mod #2 does 7.3 @ 70% tdp. (and more if you use the pill or increase the power) 7.5MHASH ++

AFAIK it's because he doesn't have security in place to prevent people from circumventing his fee. So what's worth more, a straight up donation or people pirating your work? It's already happened in the past so thinking it wont happen is pretty whimsical at best.

And saying you don't release it for free because you're doing it for the community is a joke..
