1. Testers earn money while testing
2. Testers earn up to 30% more money while testing because of the optimized speed.
3. Testers are not needed, but necessary in order to get the speedup on all cards and configurations.

To be clear: I am not using your software to mine actually.
I will stop a rig and because of that I can make a test for a short while.

Testers earn up to 30% more money while testing because of the optimized speed ?

Well, Testers are like elephant, and old hard drives, have memory.

Nobody will give me back the Rig time neither money not earned when  you released te first amd version in 8 (if I recall correctly) versions in 6 days and they were not working / bad working after a while.

So, please don't say so : Testers earn up to 30% more money while testing because of the optimized speed.

Oh, and thank you at the developer of a very good  CPU miner

Vertcoin spminer #1 has been tested for weeks with a few hundred cards (judging by the donation fee). spminer #2 is just a upgrade for more cards and models, with a couple of stability fixes. The miner doesn't have an API, temperature checking and remote control like the miners from other coins, but has been stable and profitable for a long time.

https://github.com/sp-hash/SPMiner/releases/tag/2

New version of vertcoin sp-mod #2

- Restored the hashrate on opencl devices.
- Small speedup on rx 570 cards. (compared to #1)
- Fixed hang in the miner when cards crash because of high oc.

new fix #3 of spminer for vertcoin

https://github.com/sp-hash/SPMiner/releases/tag/2

- Sometimes the last card in the rig (5 cards ++) failed to mine.
- Removed a rare Crash

Hi, I have some requests for SPminer for verthash if you don't mind?

Firstly please add a watchdog so it can restart if the window closes/crashes.. I seem to have a crash once every day or two, this doesn't happen for me in verthashminer.

Second is to allow addresses with a prefix like bitcoincash:fdhdfuhjdffdkfnkjdgnjkd because when using Zergpool and getting a payout in BCH, I think the formatting breaks things and the miner crashes before it starts hashing, if you use the zergpool command line like this: SPMiner --verbose -o stratum+tcp://verthash.mine.zergpool.com:4534 -u bitcoincash:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -p c=BCH --verthash-data verthash.dat --all-cl-devices --all-cu-devices... maybe I'm wrong but something in there is breaking it. I have no issue using it on other pools with a VTC address in the -u field.

Also please add the mem tweak options as seen in trex miner, like -mt 2 etc.. I can get better hash with this on my nvidia cards like p106-090 3GB and 1050 Ti 4GB.

EDIT: I'm getting a greatly reduced hash rate on 3x p106-090 cards on this new version from 360kh (spminer v1) on each card compared to 237kh on this new miner version (v2).

EDIT2: example of mem tweak settings I mention. I achieved this by starting t-rex miner until it has set the option then closing the window and launching the verthashminer and your spminer, you can see around 20kh increase on every card, so a nice 5-8% increase overall with no extra power draw: https://ibb.co/k4GCdN0

EDIT3: have you got a discord you can pm me?

Thanks for your work.

Thanks for the tip. Build 2 was tuned for the rtx 3060 cards and cuda 11.2. #1 was buildt with cuda 10.2.
I will try to restore the speed on the old cards when I have time. No discord but You can pm me here.

Do you think this mem tweak thing is something you can implement? What do you think about the bitcoincash:xxx thing?

I'd love to be able to use this miner on Zergpool with BCH payout, am having to use VHM with a reduced hashrate right now. I had SPminer on another pool for a long time though.

I will have 7 cards running in a few days, and I'm happy to test anything if you need, just PM me.

Zergpool is not working good with the spminer (crashing alot and ~5% rejected shares), but you can use auto payout in BCH on www.miningpoolhub.com. This is the pool with the fewest rejected shares and highest payout. Vertcoin is halving in 2021 so you should keep some. Autoexchanging might not be so smart..

I had issues in the past with 2% rejected shares on zergpool but right now am getting only about 0.5%. I'll look into MPH though.

I already have lots of VTC, just need some BCH right now as I can buy new hardware with it directly. Otherwise I have to send to southxchange, wait for a good trade on BTC, then another for BCH.

So there is no issue with a bitcoincash:xxxxxxxxxx addresses when using MPH? Can you please show me an example BAT file for this pool and BCH conversion?

EDIT: Ah it has a login and different system on MPH, I'm set up there now instead.

Thanks

"failed to create verthash data buffer" miner restart

4gb memory in the rig?
Add 32 gb of virtual memory

Also make sure you are using spminer #2 fix 3 build

I am working on linux support. Comming soon..

Also please add the mem tweak options as seen in trex miner, like -mt 2 etc.. I can get better hash with this on my nvidia cards like p106-090 3GB and 1050 Ti 4GB.

If you have >=3gb cards, you can dual mine vertcoin+zil. Use your favorite ethereum miner with -mt parameter, and run spminer in a seperate window. Bether vertcoin hash speed on gddr5, gddr5x cards.

Zil dag size is only 1.2GB and mine 45 seconds every 1.5 hours.

Too much oc on the cards?

You can try:

https://www.meziantou.net/tip-disable-windows-error-reporting-wer.htm
https://www.4winkey.com/windows-8/how-to-disable-windows-error-reporting-in-windows-8.html

And make sure that the miner is executed in a loop like in the example bat files.

https://github.com/sp-hash/SPMiner/releases/tag/2

SPMiner #2 for vertcoin fix #4

- Fixed opencl crash / missing the last card bug
- Restored performance compute 5.0-6.1 cards. (#1 might still be abit faster)
- Improved performance rtx 3060 (+30khash) With max oc, 980-1000khash

Sunday I will test  it with RTX 3070 and let you know

Can you test spminer #2 fix 4 please. What hashrate are you getting on the RTX 3070?

"failed to create verthash data buffer" miner restart

Try the latest build. I solved a bug where threads didn't exit properly.

Tried it, working good on the RX cards, one went up 7kH/s. R9 280x's same issue despite large pagefile. It's an older AMD 790fx board withAMD x2 3000+ ,4 sticks of 1gb ram and 120gb ssd.

OC is fine, no crashing in VHM at all.

I added the LOOP back to the BAT file and it has solved my issue sort of..

I found the error that the miner throws before closing: "failed to create sha3/keccak states buffer. error code 43". This happens maybe 1 time in every 24 hours.

Do you know a solution to this? At least with the loop thing, it just starts again and only a minute of down time.

LOL. This is what happens when you tell the public about crypto.

Just doubled my BCH with the price rise and swapped 50% back to VTC.

Do you know about the buffer error I mentioned? Why does it happen?

I'm quoting myself here...lol

I just fired up my Firepro s10000 it's getting an excellent 779kH/s with stock clocks, however it has the same issue as the R9 280x's. This is in my main Ryzen 7, 16gb system, so it can't be a system issue.

Is it crashing after a while? or crash at startup? Are you on the latest adrenaline drivers? Crimson drivers have issues. Also some pools are crashing the miner more often than others. Wich pool are you using? Try the bat scripts that follow the archieve.

It isn't crashing, it throws a "failed to create verthash data buffer" code as the miner stops after donation mining, then instead of continuing with work, it does a restart where it runs through the bit of mining (like you just started the miner) then the donation mining again and rinse and repeat. So instead of you getting 1%, your getting alot more... maybe like 25% donation. It's definitely a spminer vs old 2013 Radeons issue.

Anyway, I figured something out, just run one of the Rx cards with the R9 cards and it works like it's supposed to.
