Hi all
We have a game-changing development to announce.
In its first venture into the crypto space, a major and highly regarded design firm will be developing the Blocknet's decentralized exchange app frontend. With more than 30 years in the business, you can expect world class UI/UX to be coming to the only truly decentralized exchange.
The campaign to reveal our UI/UX partner will involve some broader marketing which includes their collaboration, and so once we're both ready - in the next couple of weeks, presumably - we will reveal who they are and provide further details.
The development timeline for the frontend is 13-18 weeks, though this may well be adjusted. Note that funding for the frontend will come out of our Frontend Fund (Bi9efL7SZokLkm3eqW4ZYYLog8pFGumiGD), which the community has generously supported. In the event that further funding is required, it shall be made available through our production blockchain's voting system.
Additionally, we will be releasing our roadmap this week.
What does this mean for a timeline for the burn address to go away. Will that be covered in the road map this week?

I can't wait for the upcoming big announcement in which UI/UX designer will be revealed. I am already big fan of blocknet and that's why I have more than enough in my possession. Block will fill the gap by providing perfect solution where centralized exchanges have limits. We are about to enter in new era of trading without limits and maximum freedom and security.

Hi all
We're very excited to introduce the new home of Blocknet documentation! https://github.com/BlocknetDX/blocknet-docs
You can expect it to grow into a mature documentation source, and probably rather quickly, knowing the community on Slack.
Huge thanks to @aderks, @thebaron, @stuf, @philipmarshall, and @86b for making a start in #dx-doc-team (in Slack). Anyone is welcome to join in editing or commenting on documents. You can make any change you want and submit a pull request. Go for it. Get involved. If you need help, ask in #dx-doc-team.
Here's to a future where anyone can find their questions well-answered easily.

A second update:
We are also proud to announce that our auto-build system is being replaced with the rather-exciting Gitian.
Gitian will enable us to provide Windows, Mac, and Linux builds for Blocknet tech with exceptional security. In essence, Gitian removes points of failure in the building and distribution of software, and allows verification of builds by different people to prove that they are authentic.
In a little more detail: Gitian is a secure source-control oriented software distribution method. This means you can download trusted binaries that are verified by multiple builders. Gitian uses a deterministic build process to allow multiple builders to create identical binaries. This allows multiple parties to sign the resulting binaries, guaranteeing that the binaries and tool chain were not tampered with and that the same source was used. It remove the build and distribution process as a single point of failure

Progress update on the launch of the production blockchain (Original release: https://www.coindesk.com/press-releases/blocknet-launch-production-blockchain/)
- in the coming week we are going to release our brand new wallet on testnet, so you will have a chance to try it out before you spend or trade using your real coins. This will also enable us to iron out any issues that may arise in different environments.
- timeframes permitting, this may also be an opportunity to put our new Gitian build environment to the test and provide secure, verifiable Windows, Mac and Linux builds!
- Bittrex have expressed a wish to wait until (approximately) mid-month before launching the production blockchain, in order to avoid any impact that the Bitcoin hard fork may have.
- assuming that the above timeframe holds, the wallet will launch on mainnet, and service nodes will become capable of earning trade fees.

Should definitely get USD $ price equivelant next to the coin amount. The way it is now is not really useable except for a 1-off trade here or there
Great work and progress though, and I love the graphic designer you guys have so I'm sure whatever designer you get next will be even better

Hi, is there any particular reason it takes 5,000 tokens for the masternode? That seems very high with only 4M coin total Supply. Dash requires 1,000 Tokens with 20M+ supply. Will the 5K number potentially be adjusted in the future?

It sounds really interesting that wallet on test net for public to play with it, is about to be out in a week time. People like me are waiting since months for this. I saw last updates that UI will take 13-18 weeks believe this is nothing to wait for. Block's true supporters are here since day one and those who joined it later. Keep the great work up guys.

1. You can use it to stake for more coins. 2. You use block as fees to pay to the service node for making trades. 3. You can have 5000 block to run a service nodes and earn those fees.

This will greatly limit the amount of servicenodes. It should be 500-1000 imo
