Does anyone have a Windows wallet binary that doesn't set off all of the virus alarms?

Hmm can you give some more details on the scan or findings? I understand some scanners throw an alert when discovering satoshi mining code, but if something else is going on here we better get to the bottom of it. Even if it is that, we can tweak it to get rid of the alert in a new compilation. Thanks.

Thank you Pokeytex. I did some digging and I see a lot of mining software returning that flag. For example: http://www.herdprotect.com/ultimatebitcoinminerv1_27.exe-9824b24e93748fd047b796b743b1a7e54ec9ce58.aspxMost likely avast sees that there is satoshi codebase mining code here and is saying: look out, this could be somebody trying to mine with your machine. This coupled with no reports of trouble from any other windows users in this forum are consistent with a false positive on that virus find. HOWEVER... If you ask me any proprietary blobs are malware and so you are running windows - this means: caution - do not store life changing amounts of coin on this system. Even the antivirus sortware itself is likely backdoored. Also it is worth pointing out that the file could have been modified before you got it, unless you checked a signature. SO You should be fine to ignore that warning However a new windows binary is in the works, there have been a couple updates to the woodcoin wallet I am helping to curate so we will publish another with signature to be even more sure it's what you expect and only what you expect. If you are paranoid and/or you do have top secret stuff on the box you are installing, you could run woodcoin in a VM. Depending on what you want to do, for some things you can also use logaddress.org for generating secure addresses. Good luck and God speed

this coin will bloom if it will be listed on some other exchanges, community support and the dev's support is very essential to let it live, to make it grow and be a competitive coin.

I'd like to hear more, Crypto Girl. Stop by #woodcoin sometime or send me a PM please. what i'm suggesting are: -add the coin to other major exchanges to make it tradable by the other who are not using C-CEX. -launch a campaign, to have some exposure (twitter, FB, signature) -form a community, a forum that will be the home for the supporters -translate the ANN into some languages to spread the world to some non-english traders and investors as well. these action i think will help to re-establish the spot of the LOG in the crypto-market. PS: if you believe that translation can help the Woodcoin, let me do the Filipino translation.

Thanks Crypto-girl
I think you are on to something there, but the difficulty is in how to do those things - and do them well.
Towards this effort there is some good news recently. Some of you may have noticed that we are being hit with further quantitative easing, rewarding woodcutters who work around the clock vs. those who chop-and-run. We'll see how this affects woodcutting behavior.
--
The same benefactors providing us with quantitative easing have created an allowance for development work, as follows:
The KAWG group of LOG stackers also generously offers 100k LOG or thereabouts for the following work, to be rewarded no later than spring soltice 2017.
1) Websites -
Up to 3 awards of 10k LOG will be given out to developers who create sites offering woodcoin wallets, information, and related material.
2) Wallets -
Up to 3 awards of 10k LOG will be given out to developers who curate woodcoin wallets. This could be as simple as maintaining a fork of the funkshelper wallet, complete with binary releases. PPAs and ports are needed. Other projects worthy of the award are a woodcoin-electrum, woodcoin-android, and javascript or html5 wallets.
3) Choppers -
Up to 2 awards of 10k LOG will be given out to developers and publishers of improved woodcutting tools. This includes better pools, skein hashing tools (fpga? amd?), and possibly more usuable standalone woodcutting clients.
4) Merchants -
Up to 2 awards of 10k LOG will be given out to the best merchant promotion accepting woodcoin. This could also include exchanges.
5) Social Media -
Maintaining a social media presence on behalf of the woodcoin community will receive up to 2 awards of 10k LOG. This could be a facebook group, reddit group, or other channels upon suggestion.

I tried looking into compiling the linux source in windows and it is way above my pay grade. Until then I will wait for a patron of the forest to produce a new one.

I have a stucked transaction for weeks now which I can't re-broadcast because the rawtransaction hex is too long (82KB) and doesn't fit into the console with sendrawtransaction.
Any ideas on solving it?

Interesting. You could post it in a dpaste or pastebin and we could try and see if any of our clients will broadcast it.

新年快乐!
A happy and successful year of the Chikun to all woodcutters, stackers, and interested persons.
The network has been very stable in the last few weeks, thanks to all participants. We recently hit a new all time high difficulty above 400. Exchange prices remains remarkably stable. Let's focus on a few things in the coming year:
1) Maintaining and growing community of woodcoin users interested in doing something useful in a broader sense, not just "making money" as a goal on its own. We wish to educate and promote publicly issued currency of a stable and longlived variety because we care about the people, we care about protecting the living things, and we wish to pursue lofty goals which take place on time scales longer than our lifetimes. A major goal is eliminating corruption that leads to waste and devastation. OK maybe you aren't a treehugger but perhaps you can get on board with this anyway.
2) Educational websites. We are working on better efforts here to show people how to use this technology. First round should be out within a month.
3) Wallets. We are working on better looking wallets for Windows and Android platforms at the moment. We aim to have versions in English and 中文 added to app stores in this quarter.
We also keep a special eye on litecoin in this year to see what we can learn. Some decisions about scaling will have to be made eventually.
Remember we are on a long term path here, so 慢走 , take it easy, and enjoy the ride. It won't be for another 15 years that the economics of a logarithmic supply release forces itself upon the bitcoin issuance plan of geometric release supply in a way that nobody can ignore.
So to sum up, I didn't have much to report, but happy new year!
