It depends on what country you're in, but generally, it isn't:

http://www.thedomains.com/2014/08/10/eu-court-to-decide-if-bitcoin-transactions-are-subject-to-value-added-tax/

"Jane Genova wrote an article on PaymentWeek.com about the EU deciding on whether or not to tax Bitcoin transactions. Earlier in the year Sweden asked for the EU to rule on whether or not Bitcoin should be taxed. The UK has ruled no valued added tax on Bitcoin."

This guy is in the UK. He's also the only one on the entire forum trying to pull this off. Don't fall for it.

Queue dogies "my accountant says...." & "I'm legally required to....." nonsense quotes  Cheesy

.... random lies ....
HMRC have said there is no VAT applicible to mining REVENUE. There is nothing about miners, which are sold like any other good at a rate of 20%. Don't post in my thread again.

Yes they are, but there are two sides to VAT. On one side you collect 20% of all sales revenue in the region for the government, and on the other side you can reclaim VAT paid on some expenses. Royal Mail's services not including VAT makes them more expensive.

Say I collect £12 for a customer for postage, and Royal Mail costs £12. I have to pay £2 to the government, and can reclaim £0.

But anyway, I don't use Royal Mail due to cost / VAT / speed for the UK stuff, and they don't do larger shipments to the EU. I also don't charge postage for people in the UK, except on the cheaper stuff.

You.re so full of cr*p dogie.
Do you think everyone is stupid?
Do you think that everyone is a law breaking tax evader apart from you?
You are the only person here doing this, and you're doing it with stuff that was given to you for free! You're taking the p*ss mate, seriously.
Are you paying tax on what Bitmain are paying you for your biased reviews?

Stop thinking that you're superior to everyone & that the rules don't apply to you - they do. Most importantly - STOP TRYING TO RIP OFF THE AVERAGE MINER WITH TAX BULLSH*T!!!

Come on give the guy a break you're taking things a bit far now. If he's VAT registered then he has to charge VAT its the law here in the UK.

If you don't like it then move on. He's not forcing anyone to buy his stuff.

Can we "print" our own label and send it to you.  I really would not want to spend BTC on shipping.  Just name your carrier and give package details.

For me, this would make your equipment much more attractive pricewise.

Yeah I guess so, then I just call them to book a collection? I'm not sure how its going to work out any different in cost though.
