Just noticed that the following message popped up on someone's account. I received a PM in which I was asked to remove negative feedback from an account, because it was purchased. When I went to the trust page of the purchased account (to add even more negative trust) I saw that message and I like it! It's nothing big, nothing special, but if you suspect that an account is purchased, you might want to check their trust rating page for that message. Wink

Why would anyone remove negative trust simply because the ownership of the account has "transferred"? This does not make any sense. You would need to get the reason why the account received negative trust resolved prior to being able to getting the negative trust resolved.

I think the only time that this would be an indicator that an account was purchased is if the password was changed multiple times. If the account shows as having it's password reset then it is probably an indicator that the account is potentially hacked.

I would also make it public which account was purchased and who was doing the purchasing.

Exactly why I won't remove the neg. feedback

Well a reset + password change seems very convincing to me and just suspicious in general. If I saw someone asking a loan/selling a product/service and they had that message on their account, I wouldn't deal with them.

I would also make it public which account was purchased and who was doing the purchasing.
I, obviously, neg. rated the person who bought the account.

Why would anyone remove negative trust simply because the ownership of the account has "transferred"? This does not make any sense. You would need to get the reason why the account received negative trust resolved prior to being able to getting the negative trust resolved.

Removing negative trust after an account transfer would open up a market of scammer accounts.

A person would scam, get a scammer tag, then sell the account to someone who would simply get the tag removed.

We can't let such a market evolve.  If you are a scammer, you should not be able to benefit by selling your account.

That is exactly my point. (although scammer tags have been replaced with negative trust).

I don't see a problem with someone who buys a scammer account to settle with the people who were scammed (for example paying back a loan, or paying back people who had money stolen from them), even if it is for a discount as this would at least allow the victim to recover some amount of money.

Not only that, but a scammer could simply reset their password and then claim their account was sold in an attempt to escape their negative feedback. There's no way to prove an account was sold, and even if they did offer proof it's possible (even probable) that they also control the account which "purchased" it and simply moved some coins around.

Yes you're right , there is no way  to prove that an account was sold. The unique thing is :  make a rule for stop the buying/selling of forum accounts.

Even if a rule is made, it will be traded outside the forum and no one will know about it. But making this rule will reduce no. of trades and IMO, users associated with trading BT accounts should be banned like Quickseller.

Well, if you are against it, why did you provide escrow for it? Roll Eyes I have always rejected people that wanted me to escrow account sales, since I'm highly against it.

Ehehe , good question ! Because I'm only an escrow but if the forum account trade is not right (we've seen that injust has bought an account that it defaulted a loan) I think it is not more necessarily to allow this type of trade here in the forum.

However I make as escrow for all the deals , I'm not responsible for the old issues that a forum account has generated.

There's no reason to buy an account apart from scamming IMO. All accounts bought should have a tag like "Warning: this account has been bought" to let everyone know.

Apart from the majority of them that are bought to earn more for signature campaigns. And you can leave a warning like that if you feel so inclined; that's what the feedback system is for.
