You cannot change username by default. Create a new account.

Theymos will occasionally do this for well-known users, but unless it's a minor change then even that is unlikely. Donating to the forum and becoming a VIP also grants you the ability to change your username, but 50 BTC is a high price to pay when you could simply create a new account.

What's unfair about it? You can have as many accounts as you wish, there's no rule against it (just don't spam from them or risk having them all banned).

How is this unethical or unfair? The only reason this may be considered unfair, imho, is if the account's username was something that other people may want. "vvv8" is probably not going to be a popular username choice.

You are allowed to have multiple accounts as long as they are not used for evading bans.

I don't have a problem with alt accounts as long as they're not used for evading bans. If you're hesitant to say something controversial because you don't want it to be associated with your name, please create an alt account and say it.

You can create a new username "providing that it's available" and making more than one account isn't against the forum rules.
username changes are available mainly for VIP members mainly or ones that can ask that from theymos and unless you are ready to send in something like 50 BTC to change the username for a newbie account it wouldn't be worth it.
