Aweeee geezzz...

Dont give the conspiracy theorists like parapain any ammo bro..

First! before the crazies speak up.. Smiley

Okay, I won't, but that press release was dated May 2, so that's what went to press, unless... (end of ammo, bro)

While most of us wait for our issue, here's my second release--and on time.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

How long will the 1st issue be available? (I'm referring, of course, to the physical edition.)

If I decide sometime in the near but indeterminate future that I'd like to buy a subscription, could I get the back issue magazine(s)?

Issue #1 will be available for backorders for some time, right until we run out. We also plan to make it possible to order subs that start from #1 #2 #3 etc.

BTW for those who are worried that there are too many copies printed and their #1's are not that collectible as they have expected, I can  leak the following: "some copies of issue #1 will be more collectible than others".

As many know having some story and quirks goes a long way to making things collectible. We are still working on "story" while some quirks are in place already including mentioned "page three, bottom right corner".

I want to be able to buy a PDF edition of this magazine, with the bitcoin address I used to buy it, imprinted on every page (or watermarked, well you get the idea). Make it 0.5BTC or around that. I think that way you'll have more sales, higher marginal revenue and etc.  Grin

This might not be a bad idea.  iTunes now sells non-DRM music, but it is all watermarked with the name of the buyer in the metadata.  That watermark may or may not be easy to remove completely, but is a decent deterrent regardless.

Edit: what's to deter an anonymous buyer of the magazine?... Likely nothing

Companies claiming they got hacked and lost your coins sounds like fraud so perfect it could be called fashionable.  I never believe them.  If I ever experience the misfortune of a real intrusion, I declare I have been honest about the way I have managed the keys in Casascius Coins.  I maintain no ability to recover or reproduce the keys, not even under limitless duress or total intrusion.  Remember that trusting strangers with your coins without any recourse is, as a matter of principle, not a best practice.  Don't keep coins online. Use paper or hardware wallets instead.

hehe, unless they sent it to press a few weeks ago with the modified cover. The new one looks better if you ask me, and btw "crazy" people are needed sometimes, unless... (out of ammo again)

Seems like there's only one thing to do, and that's for you to start a scam thread. Several hundred copies is a mighty large investment. What were you planning on doing with them if they do arrive?

Hehe. When they arrive, I'll be doing 3 things with them:

  • Immediately reshipping many of them to our Asian subscribers
  • Using them for shows, investments and proof of concept in Korea for the work I do in Bitcoin
  • What I do with the rest is a secret that won't be revealed for some time.

Don't beat off to it for too long, you might go blind and won't be able to read the second edition.
