If you are doing this, what is your strategy and how are you doing? Any cool charts to share?

Buy as long as price < moon. Sell when price = moon.

I've never heard of this kind of trading. Sounds... Incredibly irrational. I'd love to be proven wrong, the concept sounds interesting at least.

Had a skim. The data provided doesn't convince me, I'd like to see more than the limited period as an example. But since nature is cyclical and so are markets I suppose that there could be merit in the concept. Thanks for sharing! I love learning new obscure ideas.

I think it is spurious correlation rather than a trading strategy. Kind of reminds be of monkeys beating the pros at stock picking; http://www.forbes.com/sites/rickferri/2012/12/20/any-monkey-can-beat-the-market/

I usually buy when there are stars in the sky (clouds or not).
I sell when there are no stars.

Look, moon cycles definitely have an effect on human emotions. And markets are a great deal driven by emotions not logic.
So moon cycles have an effect on trading.
However, moon cycles are one of many factors one should consider. Moon cycles are likely to add fuel to a fire, so to speak.
So anyone trading strictly by moon cycles would be similar to someone trading just on 1 hr MACD. Probably not going to be extremely successful.

Good point. I'm really tempted to do some plotting against a bitcoin or silver chart now!

It makes sense since it indeed has an impact in humans, but most profesional traders are shut ins that aren't looking at the sky when they trade so i dont think its really relevant.

Crime rates and violence generally increase on a full moon, so I'm fairly certain space weather plays upon psychology. To what degree though, I have no idea.

If it ever turns out that thoughts have mass (I've never seen this proven or debunked, but the concept seems plausible) it might be the case that thoughts could be affected by changes in gravitational forces. In this case, astrological trading could have some merit. Obviously, people are affected by what's going on in space, because what's going on there enables what is going on here on Earth. It would be challenging to determine how events in space affect human psychology simply because localized factors apparently have a far greater effect on the things we do, and so it would be very difficulty to isolate and operationally define independent variables in space to be tested in a way that isn't significantly tainted by the influence of the localized factors.
