Yes, a seed node is needed. This is one of the things currently under negotiations.

We are having some luck getting the blockchain moving again. Thankfully someone holding EVENT had been online and staking when the seed node was disabled so we have a great reference point to work with. The node to which the rest of us are syncing right now says it has 10 connections. So if you are one of those 10 connections, please be advised that you should not send coins to or withdraw coins from your wallet and/or Bittrex at this time unless you wish to do so as a test. Once we get a solid group of clients synced up to the same point and blocks are moving again, we will post details how to connect and will also ensure that Bittrex is on the same fork.
There is a small group of us working on this using a Slack team that I have created to facilitate this takeover.

Further details re: the takeover of EventToken are forthcoming.

Just put a node up on our new network. I'll keep it up & running almost 24/7. It's happily syncing and is wonderful to behold.

Capitalization shouldn't matter as long as it's named EventToken.conf and it's in your data directory.
Did you delete everything but your wallet.dat and eventtoken.conf and start syncing from the beginning?

Its working, but got a chock when my wallet said ZERO coins after I imported wallet.dat to Roaming dir.  Syncing with network, but ZERO coins.....Uhhhhh.... I hope they will show up when finished syncing. Wallet crashing after 14% sync ? Help needed ! Update... No help needed. Turn out to be Bitdefender messing with the sync. Coins started to show up in wallet as well... 59% and syncing :-) |

Coins should show up once sync'd. |

Quick update: We have a new block explorer up for EventToken, this change has also been reflected in the OP http://event.bloxchain.com/In time we will enhance the explorer, for now it was urgent to get one up in order to prevent Bittrex from de-listing EventToken. |
